I am attractive, intelligent, and geeky.
My Self-Summary
I'm
Atheist. I'm
looking for friends in and around Uxbridge and London. I grew up in
Richmond with my parents and moved here in November 2008 to be
closer to where I work.
What I’m doing with my life
I currently work for a leading web-hosting company. We're also
regarded as one of the top companies to work for in the UK, which
would explain why I enjoy it so much. I get to play with the
servers all day long (fixing them when they're broken, not breaking
them in order to fix them again... tempting as this may be when
it's quiet...).
I plan to stay in the IT industry and preferably stay with the same
company as the career development options are very well structured.
I’m really good at
Computers. Windows, Linux, even (to a limited extent) Macs. I know
more about hardware than software though, so ask me anything
technical and I'll have a fairly good chance at being spot
on.
Enjoying myself. I love going out, but tend to go with friends for
meals, as opposed to just going out to get wasted as so many people
seem to do. I much prefer a quiet night in compared to a noisy
club. Snuggling up on the sofa is always nice, especially if I have
a special someone with me :-)
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes. I have been told I have very long lashes and my eyes can
apparently be quite striking.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I have very varied tastes in everything. It really depends on the
content.
I will read any book that sounds appealing or has been recommended
to me by a friend. I will watch any movie (that includes those that
get low ratings) and have a large collection of DVDs (over 400 at
last count). I will listen to any music, particularly if it's
electronica, trance, techno, d'n'b or house. I listen to classical
when I'm depressed and need cheering up and enjoy listening to
Eminem on occasion.
Food? I eat anything and everything. I am not a fussy eater. There
are some things I won't eat, though. These include: peanut butter,
chocolate with nuts in (nougat doesn't count, and neither does
Ferrero Rocher) and parts of animals not usually eaten in Western
cuisine (such as chicken feet, for example. Not something I imagine
enjoying...)
The six things I could never do without
1. My phone. Somebody, somewhere always seems to need me.
2. My friends. Sometimes I forget to call them, but that is only if
I'm snowed under with stuff going on at work (stuff I should
probably forget about as soon as I walk out the door, but that just
wouldn't be fanatical, would it?). They always seem to call me and
I wouldn't have it any other way.
3. The internet. I have tried to live without it, but failed
miserably. I have a direct connection to the backbone of the
internet at work, but that alone was not good enough when we didn't
have a home connection until nearly two months after moving... I
suffered.
4. My movie and TV collections. Most of my stuff is stored on my
home server, allowing me to call it up instantly. Being able to
choose a film or show to watch from the comfort of the sofa is
awesome :-)
5. My iPhone. I have it set to download my e-mail wherever I am.
Any time of day or night I can be reached by e-mail.
6. OKCupid? I love this site!
On a typical Friday night I am
Working. I work Wednesday to Saturday 9pm-6am. I sleep on my nights
off and am constantly switching between "day mode" and "night mode"
in order to see friends and family.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
My name is Sarah
You should message me if
You've read this far and still want to say hello.
I don't bite... hard... unless asked nicely, so please feel free to
get in touch.
