here's a poem:
outline of a plan to dethrone god:
quit writing poems. and all other forms of whining.
perfect the peeling of an apple instead.
the honest blade,
waxy swirl of crimson skin,
beads of wet sweetness
coalescing from flesh.
cut deeper, pare the core,
past the centre’s hidden star,
down to the seed.

What I’m doing with my life
What a question to ask a twentysomething-year-old!
Well, if you want the CONVENTIONAL answer, I'm working on a Masters
degree in Child and Family therapy, specializing in working with in
queer and transgender youth of colour. I'm also a writer and
performance artist working in drag, spoken word, monodrama, poetry,
and journalism. I'm invested in radical, intersectional politics,
collective living, and community building. There! Life neatly
My life goal is to become a degenerate old lady dressed in red silk
lingerie who has many strapping young lovers and is killing herself
eating too many bonbons.
I’m really good at
Reading! Telling stories. Doing makeup and nails. Discussing
anti-colonial, radical queer and feminist politics. Obscure
literary and pop culture references. Making zines. Sexy consent!
The first things people usually notice about me
My ASTONISHING beauty. Just kidding. Sort of. I'm told that I have
an "old, eccentric soul". Certainly I plan to age magnificently,
like a fabulous ancient temple crumbling into ruin as all around,
the forest vines surge up to reclaim their ground. I like to talk,
sometimes in extravagant metaphor. Some people say it's charming!
Others, that it's pretentious.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Someday, I'm going to finish putting words to everything I want to
say. And when that day comes, I will stop speaking entirely. Anyone
who wants to communicate with me will have to have mastered the art
of touching without causing pain.
You should message me if
You love adventure! If you have ever dreamed that you were a river
rushing toward a mountain and the mountain said, "come!" If you
like children's literature. If you believe in fairies. If you are a
stately older gent, have a steady, lucrative job, and would like a
delicately pretty waif to spoil. If you are a feminist. If you are
anti-racist. If you are a revolutionary. If you can seriously
imagine yourself writing letters to a lost love for forty-seven
years with no reply. If you like poetry. If you write novels. If
you are a musician run out of songs to sing. If you are dark and
brooding and smell like sex and trouble. If you are brave.
