My self-summary
My name is Johan, hello :). I speak Dutch (natively) and English and have lived in the Netherlands, New Zealand and now Australia. I'm a quite an introverted person, considering myself more of a listener than a speaker. You won't see me out partying on Friday nights, my interests lay closer to home, watching movies, playing video games and learning about the most bizarre things from the internet. That's not to say I don't go out with close friends for simple but fun social activities. I am a flexible person in terms of interests and would have no issues trying new things as I meet new people.

I have a passion for software engineering, a mysterious and magical world of fun. My secondary hobbies are mainly focused around gaming, internet browsing, filmography and a good night out. I consider myself quite introverted compared to others. I am a recent Bachelor degree graduate from QANTM, having studied a degree in Interactive Entertainment (major in programming). I have spent the majority of my life growing up with electronic devices and have always enjoyed interacting with them, whether it'd be gaming, fixing a computer or troubleshooting software issues.
What I’m doing with my life
As I have now completed my studies as well as having experienced real-world work scenarios I consider myself an intermediate software engineer. My main aim is become part of the video game industry and am currently undergoing some non-paid contract work for a mobile games company. I believe that I have an extensive knowledge associated with different categories of my interests; including but not limited to filmography, special effects, cars and motoring, weaponry as well as mathematics.

I'm someone that has a good idea of where he's headed in life, but that's not to say that my plans can not change. What I'd really like at this point is to expand and share my life with another person, as from my understanding this would be much more fun :).

The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm a quiet person and I'm not exactly the centre of attention; quite the opposite, but I'm a good listener. However, with close friends I can be a bit more open.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like an assortment of movies, mostly in the category of action, horror or comedy. As for food, I eat a fair lot of variety, although do not like candy as much. Music, I particularly enjoy listening to video game soundtracks and rarely listen to other mainstream music, although I do find some alternative or classic rock tracks pleasant to listen to. As for books, I no longer really read them.

To be fair I'll give a list of some of the items in each category which I think I'd consider common or a preference of mine:

Books - It's been a very long time since I've ready anything, I've actually been somewhat tempted by a video game once (The Witcher) to read the backstory from its novels. I don't mind reading, I just haven't picked up the interest for a while.

Movies - I enjoy movies with a good story (as I suppose does everyone else) although I also enjoy viewing the occasional all-out silly action movies. I mostly watch actions, sci-fi's and horrors and occasionally comedies (which usually link in other genres)

Shows - Right now I'm a very big fan of Supernatural; I find it to have a great style of music, humour as well as action and it's actually one of my favourite shows right now; not to mention the fact that Jensen Ackles is a sexy beast! Others include Mythbusters, the Simpsons, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and anything else that might be on at the same time as I'm eating dinner and watching TV.

Music - My music style is quite different from others in that I listen to songs others dislike, and dislike songs the majority of people like. I'm currently quite a fan of Angus & Julia Stone as well as Moby due to their melancholic music styles. Other than that, my musical preference lies with game and film soundtracks which I quite enjoy for their orchestral and very deep themes.

Food - I'm actually quite a big fan of Asian-culture foods such as spicy Indian foods, Sushi or the common take-aways. As for drinks, I'm a huge fan of Coke and probably drink this a bit more than I should. I'm not a fan of alcohol, and the rare occasions that I do drink alcohol I drink regular beers.
The six things I could never do without
1. Friends
2. Internet
3. A GPS (I always get lost!)
4. Air conditioning
5. My cat
6. serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how things work, whether it be from my technical interest, cars, or even people and how life all turns out. Not in a religious manner, but simply in terms of science and biology. But mostly events around me at present time.
On a typical Friday night I am
spending time playing video games, browsing the internet or programming something mysterious and exciting which may or may not break horribly and cause a stressful but entertaining late night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've answered way too many questions on this site from a combination of boredom and out of interest in answering them.

I also shame myself for my witty username, which was only intended to prevent my dating profile from appearing in search results.

I'm also a "cokeaholic", but have decided in my crazy state of sensibleness that it would be a good idea to stop drinking that so much and now only drink it when going out :).

I'm also greatly terrified of plant roots for no apparent reason.
