My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I have over 2000 books on my kindle, I have too many smartphones, I really enjoy dystopian books like Brave New World, I've travelled / lived in 12 different countries (that's averaging 1 every 2 years of my life so far).

I enjoy and NEED good quality strong coffee. I've been known to get up at the crack of dawn to cycle to the beach for early morning ocean swims. Other interests include: themed costume parties, writing, playing guitar. In 5 words I'm creative, loyal, active, intellectual and organised.

You're pretty much guaranteed a conversation about some aspect of linguistics with me at some point. I'm a massive language nerd and learning new tongues comes pretty easily to me.

Warning: I tend to flip to and fro between topics of conversation like it's nobody's business because everything is interesting to me. It can sometimes be a bit of a roller coaster ride.

This year I discovered Body Pump (a weights class at the gym) and I love it. I like feeling strong! Plus it helps me in my other sport loves of swimming and running.

I work in advertising on the sell-side - if you don't know what that is just ask :) It's very interesting and keeps me on my toes. I'm not bored yet which means it's really challenging me for the moment.

Update: I'm planning a 'screen-free' holiday over Christmas. That means no iPhone, no Android, no tablet, no laptop, no TV. I figure kindle is allowed as it doesn't emit light.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Figuring out how best to spend the pockets of time at my disposal, those weekends and weeknights after work is put on hold for a brief respite.

Work is wonderful, fascinating, fulfilling but I just need a little more than that in my life right now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making delicious dinners
Spelling & Grammar
Mastering languages and nerding out about them
Listening
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm reading more and more these days because of my kindle, which I love. Though all my favourites are still in hard copy chez moi
Some of my all time favs include:
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
On the Road by Jack Kerouac
Dirt Music by Tim Winton
Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood

Always open to recommendations!

TV: MadMen, True Blood, Media Watch, Gruen. Anything ABC. Liking Redfern Now for example.

Films: not a film buff, admittedly. Need to see more films. Recently saw Beasts of the Southern Wild and loved it :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- rearranging the furniture in my room / house every 6 months or so (the idea of finding a new formation or creative solution to a problem never fails to satisfy)
- notebook and pen
- my costume box filled with endless possibilities for fancy dress
- my family
- regular exercise
- technology / internet access (though I need to switch off over holidays and escape to places with no phone reception or internet)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
my bucket list of things I most want to do but never get around to.

right now the work in progress is focused around improving my quality of life in Sydney and includes but is not limited to: checking out Dawn Fraser baths and that other harbourside pool MacCallum Pool. trying the Jamie Oliver restaurant. succeeding at creating a herb garden. becoming a member of the MCA and go to all of the exhibitions.

If you have any other ideas or a bucket list of your own, let me know!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
No Friday night is 'typical', honestly. I could be donning my Lady Gaga outfit for a fancy dress party or sipping Pinot Noir at my local tapas joint. I could be busting some blues on my guitar or bathing in bubbles listening to the SeaChange soundtrack. Rest assured I will be making my own fun and damn well enjoying myself to boot. Why not join me?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Take me out, have some drinks with me and then I'll tell you...
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are up for any of the following: discovering new eats, gawking at art, swimming in obscure locations around Sydney, checking out a live gig (with me).

Also please message if you have something interesting to say!
