I am passionate, laid back, and optimistic.

My Self-Summary

I'm a pretty chilled out, easy going guy that lives for music...I love writing, performing, spinning and listening to all kinds: electronic music mostly, but I love punk, industrial, underground hip hop, reggae/dub, 80s underground...basically anything good ;) I like being around real and creative people and learning about other cultures. I like making people laugh as well as being made to laugh, and all things that generally have a positive vibe. I love being with friends, whether inside relaxing, or going out to bars, clubs & shows. Some of my favorite things in life are sunny/tropical weather, being outside in nature, vacations, synchronicity, daydreaming, dogs, wine, beer, single malts, golf, cooking, motorcycles - especially my Triumph, comedians like George Carlin, Bill Hicks and Chris Rock, shows like Kids in the Hall, Mr. Show, Ali G, and Sarah Silverman, great films, and being lazy when the opportunity presents itself.

What I’m doing with my life

All my ambitions in life revolve around music - trying to realize various projects, trying to start a record label over the next couple of years, keeping my main band Fragment going, dj'ing as much as possible, and just getting better at everything I do. Outside of that, I'm trying to save money so I can travel a hell of lot more this year and next year: Europe & Japan this year and hopefully the World Cup in South Africa next summer for starters. I've been moving around a lot over the past few years, and having been looking forward to living in the Bay Area for quite some time, so I'm pretty excited to finally set up home base here and explore all that Northern California has to offer.

I’m really good at

Writing & playing music & djing.
Being a smartass...being a beer & wine snob.
Oh, and cooking, among other things... ;)

The first things people usually notice about me

That I'm easy-going and like to smile & laugh a lot. And maybe that I can be rather silly, in the strictest Pythonian sense of the word. ;)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Hmmm...let's see...

::Books::
Anything by William S. Burroughs or Hunter S. Thompson. A few of my favs: Power Politics by Arundhati Roy, Damnation Game by Clive Barker, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, & Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. I dig books about political science (socially progressive ones, anyways), astrophysics, perception/metaphysics, and anything having to do with Eastern thought & philosophy.

::Movies::
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Wild At Heart, Platoon, Resevoir Dogs, Killing Zoe, Austin Powers, Lost In Translation, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Natural Born Killers, any Monty Python, The Van, Superbad, Knocked Up, Heat, The Professional, Pulp Fiction, True Romance, Children Of Men, Planet Terror, Amores Perros, Enter The Dragon, Hellraiser, The Darjeeling Limited, Rushmore, Snatch, Shaun Of The Dead, Desperado, American Psycho, Sexy Beast, Lost Highway, Office Space...

::Music:: [short version]
Skinny Puppy, Download, Ministry, Coil, Einsturzende Neubauten, Tear Garden, Jane's Addiction, The Cure, Bauhaus, Interpol, Lush, New Order, Rage Against the Machine, Primus, Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, Jesus & Mary Chain, DJ Marky, DJ Dara, DJ Krush, Marcus Intalex, Calibre, Meat Beat Manifesto, Mouse on Mars, Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, Ken Ishii, Autechre, Sun Electric, Black Moon, 9th Wonder, Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Bikram Singh, Zakir Hussain, Midival Punditz, Bob Marley, Augustus Pablo, King Tubby, 7 Seconds, Fugazi, The Clash, Slayer, Meshuggah, David Bowie, The Doors...

::Food::
Indian Food is by far my favorite type of cuisine. I also love Mexican, Jamaican and southern soul food. Anything that's not boring, basically. ;) I absolutely love to cook and if I were a chef, I'd be Jamie Oliver. I also really like Bobby Flay. I'm into everything from diners, taquerias and pizzerias to restaraunts like Mesa Grill and Gotham. Some of my favorite spots are:

Dawat, Punjabi 5 Star, Lombardi's, Bar Americain, Les Halles, Brawta, Punjabi Deli, and Planet Thai in NYC.
Big D's BBQ Barn in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Bouchon Bistro in Napa and Puerto Allegre in SF, CA
Momocho, Lolita, Ty Fun & Tremont Tap House in Cleveland.

The six things I could never do without

My studio, my music collection, friends & family, the sun, great food/coffee/beer/wine/scotch, and my imagination.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I can do to make a positive difference in the world and how I can become a better person. I'm always daydreaming about travelling to countries I haven't been to yet. I also like thinking about what I want to do musically, and how I can build my band & label up to the point where I can finally have my own tropical compound.

On a typical Friday night I am

at a local bar drinking with friends...would rather be home with someone watching movies and being lazy though!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like Bollywood movies. ;)

You should message me if

You're an open-minded, affectionate and sweet girl who can still be bad and who likes to have fun. If you're young at heart, intelligent, irreverent, hilarious, and like being silly, say hi... ;) Being into some of the same things as I am would be cool, too, like tattoos, electronic/industrial/punk/metal music, leftist politics, dogs, motorcycles and parties/gatherings of all kinds, though it's not the most important thing...!

Also wouldn't mind just hooking up with someone to check out shows, meet for drinks at Lucky 13 or other dive bars, explore the restaurant scene, go on motorcycle rides, hit up wine country, etc... fun things, you know? ;)
