I'm writing this while taking a few days off from work for the
holidays and I have to say, the best moments in life are with your
best friends and your family chilling out and having a good time.
Whether that's hanging out with my dad, playing Mah-Jongg with my
friends (it's a bit of a tradition now over the holidays!), or
cooking for 20 people in my apartment with my mom and brother. I
love getting people together! And I suppose (despite being pretty
happy with everything I have in my life) I am still missing my
better half (you?). So let's see what happens. Ya never know :)
What I’m doing with my life
UI and UX designer for a tech start up
Biking all around the city, cooking for whoever is coming over,
drawing in my sketchbook and photoshopping (I love mixed media),
trying to figure out where and with whom to play tennis with
(you?), running along the Hudson River, playing Mahjong with my
second family (they're Chinese of course), planning my next trip to
somewhere new and exciting.
I’m really good at
Replying to emails with ridiculous drawings or photoshopped work as
opposed to a written response, estimating the time to get to the
gate at the airport from my apartment (goal is to just walk right
on the plane with no waiting!), making eggs in the morning, sunny
side up of course. yummm
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess that I am a very open and warm person. As long as it's not
first thing in the morning (yeah, not quite a morning person!) or I
don't have some pressing deadline on my mind, I'm generally a
pretty open and relaxed person.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Historical fiction in general. I tend to find myself in the middle
of 3-5 books at a time. Eek. Just finished Shantaram, really liked
Gone Girl, looking forward to Unbroken.
Currently enjoying Homeland, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Walking
If it's good quality food I will enjoy it! Most likely.
American Beauty, Blade Runner, When Harry Met Sally
Oldies but goodies: Billy Joel, Bob Dylon, The Beatles, Leonard
Currently enjoying: The Lumineers, Adele, Marina & The
Diamonds, Arcade Fire, and lots more of course
The six things I could never do without
In what context? survival? dead of winter in NYC? On a daily basis?
Hmmm, why don't we go with... if everyone became zombies and I had
to fend for myself...
1. probably a loaded gun with ammunition of some sort. Now don't
get me wrong, I am NOT a gun person. But hey, these are zombies we
are talking about here. This is a different story now.
2. A source of water and something to hold water in.
3. A source of food and try and figure out how to sustain it. Farm?
Now that's a good skill to have. hmm...
4. At least another real human or two or three would be nice to
have. I could see it getting really lonely if I was the only one
left. Ya know?
5. Lots of books. I'd need entertainment!
6. Electricity would also probably be nice. Oh and gas too.
Not on this list... an iPhone. Yeah, that would not work in this
situation. No good.
Do I watch The Walking Dead? Yeah ok, maybe I do. You got me. it's
ok though, I'm not obsessed with zombies, despite what this looks
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What dish to make for my next dinner party.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably home or playing it low key with friends somewhere with
good food and conversation. Though later this month I'll be playing
soccer in a league I just joined (eek!). I haven't played since...
uhhh.... elementary school? This will certainly be interesting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
hmmm, not sure. I'll get back to this one later.
You should message me if
You made it this far and you think hey, I might like this girl. why
not start a conversation? What do you have to lose?
