My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
As a kid I remember reading a quote whose author eludes me at the moment, but it goes along the lines of: "Be the kind of person others don't often encounter in this world" While the name of the person who said it has since slipped my mind I took that idea to heart and I've been acting on that idea since.

As for who I am, I'm your average tall eccentric russian who grew up in SF, I wanted to be a mad scientist when he grew up, and I'm now tutoring for a living while perfecting the art of living vicariously, making art, and writing short stories.

I recently retook the Myers-Briggs personality test and I am apparently an INFP, though 3 or so years ago I was labeled as an INTJ, use that information at your own peril.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently it's not much.
I work as a freelance tutor in most scientific subjects.
Most of my time is spent with either students or hanging out with friends in the city, when I'm at home I'm either drawing, reading something in book form or online, or playing something on my computer.
I tend to get easily bored so I tend to amuse myself by coming up with ridiculous schemes and plans, usually dragging my friends and random strangers into them.

Also I have an art blog that I'm posting to on a semi-regular basis as an incentive to get better at drawing: http://iamunforseencircumstances.tumblr.com/
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
*Making origami (no, seriously, I can make them on demand like balloon animals, it's stupid.)

*Having hobbies that sound ridiculous when I tell others about them.
(among those being quote collecting, dream recording, being an impromptu tour-guide, and at one point it was climbing stuff.)

*Explaining concepts in a way that's easy to understand. (highest achievement was teaching a kid in elementary school how to do math in binary)
*Starting conversations with strangers. I realized that the whole "stranger danger" thing doesn't really apply when you're 6'6. That and I am genuinely curious about basically everything. I had a guy I just met tell me about the process of setting up an oil rig for half an hour.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my height, on multiple occasions people have used me as meeting point because my head sticks out above a crowd. I was thinking of hiring myself out as means for people to meet up in crowds, I'd have different colored lights attached to my hat, and if people payed extra I'd use a megaphone, it would be awesome.

Honestly I can't think of everything that I've watched and read, so I'm just putting down whatever I can think of at the moment. This is by no means a comprehensive list, and I'm sure I'm leaving a bunch of stuff out.

Authors: Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Jim Butcher, Mercedes Lackey, and Philip K. Dick
(though I love a lot sci-fi and fantasy books besides)
Honorary mentions for specific books: The stranger, The Alchemist, I am a cat,

Movies:
Paprika, One flew over a cuckoo's nest, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, The Science of Sleep, Pan's Labyrinth, Being John Malkovich, Amelie, I'm a cyborg but that's okay, Man from Earth, and Castaway on the Moon.

Shows:
Mythbusters, Archer, Adventure time, Regular Show, Stargate, StarTrek, Trailer Park Boys, Father Ted, I watch anime but honestly I'm not going to list it, if you're interested just ask.

Music:
Kishi Bashi, Kino, The Bowerbirds, Blackbird Raum, Narco Tango, Koan, Dead can Dance, B-52s, Bag Raiders, Koan, Death Cab for Cutie, Two Door Cinema Club,Mystery Skulls, Architecture in Helsinki, Two steps from hell, The XX, The Glitch Mob, The Avalanches, Slagsmalsklubben, Kliment, and Fern Knight.
To be fair I treat music like I do everything else, I try to listen to a new band at least once a week if not more, so what I listed is about 5% of the bands I've listened to and enjoyed.

Food:
I'm a big fan of mexican, japanese, and chinese food. I eat out quite a bit and I try going to a new restaurant at least every other week. I cook weird things that indulge my own perverse culinary tastes like beet latkas and bacon apple cinnamon fried rice. (both of which are actually pretty good.)
Basically I'm fond of everything as long as it tastes interesting. I'm almost suicidally brave when it comes to trying new foods.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
If we don't take the very basics like air, food, and water into account, the list would consist of:
1.) something to read
2.) something to write notes on
3.) an internet connection of some sort
4.) Music to listen to
5.) the ability to not give a f***
6.) my pimped out shoulder-bag that I've been carrying around with me for years. (seriously, I have everything that I need in it)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about my dreams and strange concepts that drift into my head. Designing fantasy or sci-fi settings or objects is also a fun way to kill time.
Besides that I plan a lot, things that I should do, things that I want to do, what I'd do if I had this superpower or that superpower, you know, practical stuff.
Ah, besides that I do spend a lot of time thinking about the nature of reality and the different way things interact and how my mind thinks.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Honestly, I'd probably be spending it sitting cross-legged in front of my computer, a cup of tea beside me, a few books, a notebook and a few writing utensils, and perhaps a small bowl of snacks. I'd be listening to music with about 10 tabs open in my browser, a drawing program and notepad file open to record thoughts or snippets of things I read online.

That's if I stayed in, if I went out I'd probably be wandering around parts of SF, getting food with a friend while being bohemian and philosophizing on life like I'm in some hipster art film.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am insanely bad at taking hints if someone likes me. Like, I'll have my suspicions but if it comes to that you're probably better off just letting me know.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you've ever been to a diner in a dream where they serve food that brings back memories of a specific time of your life,
If you think I'm an interesting person,
if you regularly do stuff just to say you've done it,
if you want to discuss bizarre topics of conversation that you can't find anyone to talk to about,
if you think I'm cute,
if you have any recommendations for stuff to read, watch, or listen to,
or any combination of the above.

(Or finally just because you want to; no reason necessary. Honestly: you'll stand out more if you message me first, and what do you have to lose, after all?)
