My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a theatre technician, with an astrophysics degree, and an obsession with history, also I might be a bit of a geek, opinion varies.

I like to think I'm practical and I love puzzles and problem solving, but even better if those problems can be in an imaginary universe, however I'm dreadful at cryptic crosswords.
I'll happily argue or debate anything but it's best not to let me get started into full lecture mode on a topic I love unless you really wanted the answer to your question.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm settling in to my new home and trying to work out what I want to do next. Next up is my bathroom, I'm taking suggestions for nice showers and colour schemes. I never liked bathtubs, my knees get cold.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking to new people - yet terrible at going to new places. You lead the way, I'll do the talking!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I read almost anything, I'm a huge fan of sci-fi - Iain M Banks, Peter F Hamilton, Richard Morgan, Clarke, Asimov, Gibson - I also like fantasy/historical stuff - Gaiman, China Mieville, Patrick O'Brian, CJ Sansom.

I watch much less - no TV - but I get box sets! West Wing, Deadwood, Babylon 5, BSG, Blackadder - that kind of stuff.

I will watch literally anything at the cinema, I have no standards!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Internets (and all that comes with them).
A sense of humour (Day to day you need it!)
Books (or the kindle - but really the books)
A washing machine - Of all the modern conveniences and gadgets I think I'd miss it the most.
A warm bed - really if you've got a snug the world is better.
Glasses - I tried contacts, they hurt, I like being able to see.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Ideas for things which will likely never happen, Space colonies, bookshelves, new carpets, what I should have said, making long and detailed plans and then never getting started, solving maths problems.

I like thinking about history and current events and trying to figure out what happens next. I sometimes use this to write terrible stories or as fodder for fictional worlds, which I then never use for anything. I spend a fair bit of time working out what I'd do if I was in the bronze age.

I spend a lot of time alone, sometimes I just think about food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sadly I'm probably at work, I'll be sitting at the back of the room working while everyone else listens to the nice music or watches the interesting drama. Sundays are the new Fridays!

You want to? If you want to ask me something? If you feel like suggesting a use for my hat?

You should just message me for giggles, I could do with the conversation!
