My self-summary
This is going to be a bit hard. I'm a crazy liberal queer girl (I use queer as a blanket term because I feel a little more ambiguous than the 50-50 "bi" implies) from Ypsi that lives in Ann Arbor. I drink too much, ought to smoke less, love everything from the folkiest indie shit to rap, am a "bizarre sort of meta-hipster," and love my life. I'm seriously into social justice issues, particularly anti-rape and anti-domestic violence, and have been called a feminazi so many times it makes me laugh. I'm recently out of a really serious, really long-term relationship so if you're looking for a girlfriend, keep moving, my friend. I'm here to have fun and keep busy. I do NOT want to be in a relationship, because I'm enjoying being single too much. Just want to make that clear from the beginning!
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm working on my undergrad in Women's Studies, with a minor in Community Action Social Change from the University of Michigan. I'm starting my final semester in January, and I'm taking a year off to cock about and find out what it's like to not be a student before I go to grad school for social work. It's important to me to have some meaning to my life, though, so during that year I'm planning on volunteering the shit out of my free time.
I’m really good at
making people uncomfortable when I tell them I'm a radical feminist.
The first things people usually notice about me
Unfortunately, it's usually how short I am. I've yet to meet someone who doesn't mention my height within the first few weeks of knowing me, even when I tell them this. Another thing is the fact that I am extremely talkative, including when I am asleep. I've been known to have entire conversations while dead to the world. I'd say the third thing goes in hand with the second: I am incredibly opinionated. I'll tell you what I think, even if you don't ask me. Sometimes this isn't the smartest policy, such as when my liberal ass is surrounded by neo-cons at a GOP event (I do not go to these anymore, and I used to under extreme duress). However, my negative experiences with my, er, honesty have not kept me from expressing myself.

OH DUH probably the fact that I'm BALD TOO. Why the hell wasn't this number one?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books: The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath is my favorite book, hands down. I'm planning on getting a quote from it as some ink in the future. Other favorites include The Handmaid's Tale and Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, anything by Terry Pratchett, the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, White Oleander by Janet Fitch, the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, The Surrounded by D'Arcy Mcnickle, Woman: An Intimate Geography by Natalie Angier, Cunt: A Declaration of Independence by Inga Musico, Killing the Black Body by Dorothy Roberts, A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin, Assata by Assata Shakur, Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenidies, Bitten by Kelley Armstrong... I better stop this list now or I never will.

Favorite music: As I said earlier, my music tastes are pretty eclectic. I've been obsessed with Ani Difranco since I was 16-- I don't think two weeks go by without me listening to her. I'm on an Anais Mitchell craze right now as well, though that's moving out of the way for Invincible (if you haven't heard of her, GO LISTEN RIGHT NOW. I'll wait here. No, seriously, go look her up. She's a lesbian Israeli-American rapper from Ann Arbor that lives in Detroit and raps about social justice issues.), Tamar-kali, Janelle Monae, and Eternia right now. I also adore Stars, The Decemberists, Andrew Bird, Broken Social Scene, Earl Greyhound, El Perro Del Mar, Fuck Buttons, The Knife, Fever Ray, Le Tigre, and oh god this list could go on forever, just like my books list.

Honestly, I don't watch too many movies. I'd be hard-pressed to say what my favorite is. Probably Monty Python's Life of Brian? If you put a list of movies in front of me I could pick out a bunch I like, but nothing really pops into my head. I do, however, adore foreign films. If its got subtitles I will probably enjoy it. TV, on the other hand-- I don't have a tv and don't watch too much of it, but if you take away my Doctor Who I will die. end of story.

As for food I'm pretty omnivorous, but my favorite restaurant is Earthen Jar, over on 5th Ave.
The six things I could never do without
Hummmmmmmmmm let's see?
1. My phone. It's cliche, but I got an iphone in late September and it has become my damn life. I use it for email, schedules, keeping in touch (obviously) grading my students, as an alarm... if I were to lose or break this I would be so damn screwed.
2. Books. As you may have noticed, I really love books. I have every flat surface in my apartment covered in books, including several pantry shelves. My last partner tried to ban me from buying books. This combined with conservatism kinda doomed the relationship.
3. Grooveshark and Last.fm. My roommate recently introduced me to these and I've fallen head over heels.
4. Singing. I recently got back into singing after a five-year hiatus (my second high school had no choir or drama, so I fell out of practice and then got really self-conscious about it). My super-hipster friends throw an open-mic party once a month, so I started singing again and if I didn't have this outlet, I'd go insane.
5. SAPAC. Stands for Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center. I joined this at the beginning of my junior year, and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. The women here (there are men, but there's only one in my division and half the time he doesn't show up) are the best people I've ever met-- supportive, wonderful, and feminist in the best way. I get the best environment I've ever been in while doing amazing social justice work.
6. My mind is a blank. I'm sure there are some things that could go here, but I've lost it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Gender relations, the hilarity of most conservatives, school, and when I will have free time to read a new book.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at the bar with my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have really really bad knees. Most of the time I can get around okay, but I'm seriously considering getting a cane for the bad days and I can't go for any runs with all of you gorgeous athletic types.

There are other things, but I'm not going to plaster it all over the internet for just anybody. I'll admit it to you if you ask, though.
I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi girls
  • Ages 21–28
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
You don't mind listening to a short bald chick babble about feminism and books? I guess? Also, this might sound shallow, but the chances of me replying go up exponentially if you use correct spelling and grammar in your message. I cringe otherwise. But honestly, I'd say just go for it, cause what's the worst that could happen?
