My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a well traveled Australian/Canadian professional that has time to spend with the right person. Someone that has the time and inclination to, enjoy the moment, and experience fully what life has to offer.

My friends say that I have a great sense of humor, a positive and upbeat outlook on life and I am loyal and stable. But they are my friends so what do you expect them to say?

I'm nothing if not adaptable. That comes from traveling the world in everything from a push bike to a yacht. Of course, I have also traveled by the more conventional train, plane, bus, ocean liner, automobile and camel.

35 countries 6 continents... consequently I have seen a few things and have some good stories to tell... (For those that are into travel adventure stories). So travel and seeing how the rest of the worlds people live ... and die... has been a big part of shaping my belief system. It certainly seems to give me perspective in the hustle and bustle of my Toronto life.

Most who know me agree I see thing differently than the average person..

I actually grew up on yacht in Australia and consider myself a pretty good sailor. I sometimes race in international regattas with a team of friends for fun and glory. But at heart, I'm a cruiser not a racer, for me it's the path taken not just the destination.

Like most Australians I love the ocean. I have salt water in my veins... I surf, I sail, I snorkel I swim and fish... and of course I miss that over here. Sigh.

I sound like I must be wanderer, but I'm actually quite grounded. I have a house here in Downtown Toronto were I live, a couple of kids, dog, cats full time job and a 100 acres of forest in the Creamore/Collingwood area... not to mention an ex that I am still on good terms with (thought I would just drop that in there -- I know some must be wondering).

But I have digressed...Back to me being adaptable... I think that I can rock a leather jacket or a Hugo Boss suit.
I can sit on surf board or in a corporate board.
I can out drink a trucker, or sip green tea with grandma.
I can climb a cliff or put kids to bed.
I can rock out on the dance floor or curl up on the couch with a book.
I can write poems in a coffee house or lift weights at the gym.
I can renovate a house or write environmental policy.
I can be one of the boys or lead the team.
I can be kind and strong.
I can swing a chainsaw or a banner.
I can drive a car or ride a bike.
I can be romantic and sensitive as well as strong and powerful
I can be serious without taking myself seriously

Bla Bla bla.. I have written far to many resumes over the years to enjoy composing these "self summaries".

Far too many me, my and I's for my liking!!

This Space still Under Renovation... Stay tuned.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it to the fullest... before it's gone.

An adventurous soul looking for the same. Someone to share life's experiences with in a way that enhances them.

Snowshoeing on my land up north then to the out door spa for a steam and hot tub. Surfing a wave on a deserted Austrailian beach. Snorkeling a reef with underwater creatures. Sailing a blue ocean. Searching the alleyways of Toronto for undiscovered graffiti art. Hitting the Horseshoe to see a local band.

Realizing the adventure of meeting a new and beautiful soul for a first date... and not knowing where it will end up.

I'm a professional Environmentalist and I have a great job working to protect the worlds endangered forests. I get to campaign, negotiate and travel and make a lasting difference to the planet I live on.

I guess I want my time here on this planet to make a difference. To be able to leave knowing that -- what I have accomplished has made the world a better place. As small as the accomplishments are in the face of the reality -- It's important to me.

Searching for fun and adventure and the right person to share it with.

The Written Word.
Anything from Kurt Vonnegut, "100 years of solitude" by GGM. Atwood, William Gibson especially "Mona Lisa Overdrive" also anything from Orwell, Twain, Huxley or Jack London (novels like "Down and Out In London and Paris", The Doors of Perception" and Martin Eden"). Yeah. Yeah. I know kinda old school.

On the Non fiction Side "Christopher Hitchens, M.Gladwell, R. Dawkins and other science writers like S. J Gould. I love anthropology, history, ecological design, brain and psychology research amongst other things.

For Picture Books... any thing on nature, identifying trees, mushrooms, birds and animals. Also have a lot of travel books, satellite imagery, ecological design and architecture. Oh and I love maps.

I'm not much on self help books but there are some valuable life lessons in the "4 Agreements" and the "Happiness Hypothesis".

The Screen
The Dark Knight (with Heath Ledger). Legends of the Fall, Blow, Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, The Abyss, The Road, The Proposition,The Outlaw Jonesy Wales .... Really there are too many to mention. I have lost myself in the rapid consumption of too much --The Wire, 6 feet Under, Deadwood, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Dexter, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Broadwalk Empire, Modern Family, The Shield, Justified and Nurse Jackie. Hey. When did TV get so good?

Music - It's what soothes my soul and revs my engine!
The punk poets and balladeers like Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Niel Young, Bob Dylan remain relevant to me as years roll by White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, Eminem, Tupac, Kan'nan, JZ, 50 Cent, Smashing Pumpkins, AC DC, Midnight Oil and the Who can always generate a rush of adrenaline. Kate Bush, Figgy Duff, Howling Wolf, The Doors, Blondie, Marvin Gaye, Metric, Cloud Cult, Pink, Fiest, Macy Grey, Black Eyed Peas, Arcade Fire, Suzie and the Banshies, The Pretenders, Fleetwood Mac. ... just to start... can always put me the groove.
