My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like to think that I have a healthy balance between "good" crazy, serious/intellectual, goofy/funny, being in touch with my feminine side, and being very masculine.

I can be a bit complicated and complex, but when it comes down to it, I really just want the wonderful simple things in life that most of us do. I'm working on shedding more of the complicated, and nurturing the complex.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently doing everything possible to keep my ass from sagging, considering cosmetic fillers, and trying every supplement/herb known to man. Just kidding. Well, sort of ;)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Snowskiing, dancing, making people laugh and smile, positive social interaction/intimacy(not all intimacy is physical), painting, drawing, and making people think about things they might have never thought about.

O.k., here are my downfalls/flaws:
-I run late a bit more than I would like. Will this change? Yes, and it is:)
-I tend to analyze, especially when it comes to people. This can make people feel pretty insecure, as if they are under a highly invasive alien probing of the mind;)(no alien probing of the other kind, I swear! haha). If you are secure with this, then we will definitely get along. I certainly need to work on this one.
-I can be OCD. I'm obsessed with things that are probably not very healthy. Though, you could argue that my obsessiveness will protect me in ways, one example being my health. *update* not so OCD these days! Haha
-While I take pride in my ability to communicate, I do have breakdowns in this area from time to time. Communication is an art we all probably need to be more conscious of, and working hard at, for most of our lives.

Well, there it is, the good, the bad, and the ugly... I figure this is a good way of weeding out the people that can't handle a little truth, honesty, and reality. After all, we are only human.
The first things people usually notice about me

My big bushy eyebrows!

Maybe that I'm easy to approach and comfortable to be around??? People often say I have good energy..
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books-1984, The Dark Is Rising Sequence, Huckleberry Finn, The Great Gatsby

Music-Pixies, New Order, Depeche Mode, INXS, Tribe Called Quest, The Who, The Beatles, The Shins, The Clash, Spoon, Bob Marley, Steele pulse, Bad brains, Fishbone, Peter Gabriel and Talking Heads, David Bowie, Fugazi, Credence Clearwater Revival, Hozier, Radical Face and so much more.

I do listen to classical from time to time. I find it enhances mood and brain function when needed. Oh geeez, I must be getting old!

Movies-Willie Wonka, Shawshank Redemption, Lost Boys, My Own Private Idaho, Solaris, Braveheart, A River Runs Through It, Dark City(the original Matrix; better IMO), The Flowers of War, Hotel Rowanda-there are more.

Food-Sushi, Ribeye Steak(usually grassfed and med rare to rare), Wholemilk unhomogenized yogurt from grass fed cows(usually minimally pasteurized), Sauteed mushrooms, Aged stinky cheeses(a variety of types; usually from grassfed cow milk), Blueberries, grapefruit, peanut butter(with carrots, celery, or apples), Raw Sprouted and pepper walnuts-tehy are sooo good!-and Dark chocolate, Indian Cuisine, Thai, Good Pizza!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Yogurt(haha #1 thing!), blueberries/blackberries, intimacy-physical and emotional, music, family and friends(that's 2, I'm cheating!), and Exercise-both fun indoor/outdoor, and more serious stuff like running, plyometrics and weight training
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Existential perspectives/ideas, my future related to career goals, the people I'm closest with, reflecting on my own internal conflicts, and what makes society and the people in it tic.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Spending time with close friends, watching a movie, watching a rock show, dancing, or doing some "me time" stuff.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I see a therapist. I actually encountered someone who seemed to be concerned about this. Evidently many people still don't realize that it is the person who is actually not afraid to face the truth within them, that ends up being the most emotionally connected and grounded individual. Compartmentalizing and staying in cruise control-as millions of people do instead of dealing with themselves on a deeper level-is not healthy, and will not allow someone to have the best chance of success in relationships in the future.

Uh oh, now I'm going to be looked at as being too critical of others. Hey, I can't please everyone!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are interested in stimulating conversation, and maybe a night out for dancing or rock show.

I typically get along with women that are both high energy and laidback/easygoing.

If you are not truly down to earth, we won't get along. There far too many people in the DC area that are NOT down to earth.

If you are in touch with the darker and lighter sides of life, able to experience a lot of joy, have a kind/gentle spirit, and have a full appreciation for how truly beautiful life and the world we live in is, we might have a good chance of hitting it off very well.

I cannot deny that looks matter to me. You don't have to be a beauty queen; the right mix of beautiful and cute is often my type of woman. Hey, I'm not saying I don't like a beauty queen;). I'm more about the whole package; nobody is perfect.

If it is easy for you to just be friends with someone for very long before exploring something romantically, two things are happening: 1) You were totally in denial of, and shielded from, the chemistry that is necessary for a truly romantic and passionate love. 2) There was not the uniquely romantic and passionate chemistry needed for true love in the first place. Now, I suspect that many of you, and many people in the world, will end up in a more pragmatic relationship, that does not have the wonderful chemistry combination of a best friendship, and a passionate romance. If I'm not able to be with my best friend, and my best lover, I might as well spend the rest of my life a single man.

What's really sad is, many relationships and marriages are lacking both a best friendship, and a wonderfully unique and passionate romance. Ugh, what a nightmare that would be.

Don't let your past hurt keep you from taking risks that open once in a life time doors of opportunity.

I'm never getting into a serious relationship with someone who is more a friend than a lover, or more a lover than a friend. Life is too precious, and too short, to waste toouch time on not having what I know I can one day.

I'm also very open to meeting new friends here:)

So, here I end my already exhausting profile with a preachy rant about love.
