My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm better with photography than I am with words, so my Instagram may be a better representation of my life. Although recently, it is nothing but food. Anyways, it's rickypaipie.

Curious about the world; geeky; enjoys photography, tea, whisky, beer, airlines, and sushi. Favorite past time is attempting to speak a foreign language after a few drinks and coming up with nerdy jokes.

Spent half of my life in Asia and the latter half in North America. Addicted to traveling with over 300 flights on record.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to keep my room clean.

I also recently dug out some books and anime from college years so now on a ride of nostalgia.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Photography. It is my way of getting to know the world and my primary motivation to travel.

Also Ruby on Rails, but that is probably for LinkedIn.

Also Kareoke but not cheesy Taiwanese pop but rather 80s Japanese songs. I have confidence in my voice.
The first things people usually notice about me

I have really long hair for a guy. It was originally an experiment.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Sushi is my soul food.

Flying is my reset button of life. I tend to put too much emphasis on work so need this once every few weeks.

Photography is my escape into another dimension or my moment of true life immersion.

The Economist is my way of keeping in touch with the world.

Company of friends is how I stay sane.

Memory of the past is how I move forward.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My travels have gotten me more and more confused about my political stance.

Prevalence of injustice in this world leads me to think government should intervene more; however, over-regulation also impeded my previous attempt at starting a company.

Social benefits can be provided at the expense of greater tax/debt burden. Only the Nordic countries seem to be able to carry great social benefits well with the blessing hefty revenue from natural resources. The other case is Singapore which uses sovereign funds to finance ambitious government programs. That being said, Singapore is also one of the most miserable countries despite its ease of life and wealth, so I am really puzzled. Perhaps cultural also play a role?

Overall, I believe society would be better off if everyone has the motivation and opportunity to better themselves. The best government can do is encouraging higher levels of education through scholarships and spending. For you and me, keep learning and moving forward.

edit: I may have found some sort of answer from a recently emerged economist.

On a lighter note, I'm constantly baffled by how all the evil geniuses in shows and movies, despite all the power and resources at their disposal, hire crappy engineers who build structures or plans that have a single point of failure? Also for all the intelligence they have to come up with such intricate plans, why not seek out other like minded villains and work together?

I guess that would make movies really one-sided.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The end of the week deserves a fancy meal. Maybe find a quiet bar if I'm feeling in the mood.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I wish San Francisco were colder so more ladies would wear boots and trench coat. Also totally cool with glasses.

On an insomniac Saturday night, I decided to be as honest and comprehensive about my OKC profile as possible: a leap of faith in hopes of finding a resonating soul who also venture the labyrinth that is urban life. If any part of what I wrote is interesting to you, let's connect.
