My self-summary Propose an edit

My interests vary wildly and recently I thought, what can I say that would show a man that I am a regular woman? You know, the proverbial down-to-earth interesting but not too intimidating dynamo. Then it hit me...here I was driving the company's F150 through the historic district of Annapolis today. So guys, I am as comfortable driving that big boy, as I was my little Z3...most likely in heels, but could be flip flops...enough said?

Now about me: creative, articulate but slightly irreverent single woman looking to share some time with a like-minded guy. Yes, there are tons of you out there, but the keys here are single and willing to share some time. Even though I shudder at the thought that I might not be as flexible as I perceive myself to be--since I'm used to doing what I want when I want--I still am quite willing to give up some of my time for getting to know you.

Sharing interests such as dancing, lacrosse and the Packers, lifting and running, movies, music, traveling near and far, and witty banter is certainly my goal. ENTJ mean anything to you? I do like to color outside the lines some days (private moments), run without scissors in hand others (my public good girl persona) and yet do my best to make each day better due to numerous random acts of kindness or humor (suzy's true nature). Please don't let the Intellectual Inferno test moniker scare you--except that passionately living each and every day is my motto.

I have antique advertising posters on my walls and several are over 5 feet tall. The bigger the better I guess. Capiello is my favorite due to the simple graphic qualities of his work. And of course, all the bold primary colors--especially my favorite, red! It seems they all feature some kind of liquor...hmmm...ex-party girl coming out. I knew I should have bought Bon Bon Girl when I had the chance. Chocolate ads seem more ladylike.

Being with me could be like winning the trifecta--some brains, some brawn and a good heart, and I'm hoping most of you would be intrigued by that. Life is such an incredible journey--should we stop and ask for directions?

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

In my attempt to simplify and destress my life, it seems I'm still planning almost every single hour--that needs to change. To balance work, I hit the gym almost daily. A big sweaty workout can cure just about anything that ails you--heck even cleaning like a tornado with the music cranked up makes me happy.

While I enjoy going out, you'll often find me at home flexing my DIY abilities...like who else is going to change that dead outlet or paint the dinged trim or kitchen wall from my children's youthful exuberance? And the poison ivy is running rampant, so as a yard warrior, I am lethally spraying every leaf around. I do belong to an investment club and The Striders, a local running group, but my volunteering days for a couple of non-profits have taken a back seat so that theoretically more free time is penciled in my calendar.

Of course I work--and some of you wonder what I do. Interior design has kept me creative for almost 30 years, but when I got divorced, I needed a real job. Soooo, I do CAD work for an engineer--drafting plans--but it seems I have a gift for handling demanding clients and government officials, and rescuing some of our clients who have been naughty. The flexibility of my schedule--now a 4-day work week--as well as the variety of work, keeps me mentally challenged. The answer to that question is yes, I prefer a bit of a challenge in most aspects of my life.

I am fascinated by all of you who can craft the written word into a cohesive and interesting story! Me? Oh so much better in person with the nuance of tone and inflection, and of course all those non-verbal cues we so subtly emit. Pictionary anyone?

Heading to Florida this weekend--just a women's triathlon in the making: dancing, drinking and perhaps shopping this time--or maybe eating or beaching could be substituted for the shopping part. I'm wondering if I do not read the journals here for a week or more... will I miss something? Outside activities beckon now that the weather is a bit more temperate. I could spend most waking hours outside. Alas, work days don't allow that, but there are always the weekends!

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Oh, I am fabulous at grilling "stuff" and baking...I like, no, make that totally love people and all those amazing interactions we have daily...double entendres and numbers...my work and the interior design end of my business...laughing...am pretty good at having fun just about everywhere. Also I'm better than good at being happy and optimistic, but I do have an edge there since I'm just wired that way and don't really have to work at it....................Kissing.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

My less than statuesque height, sparkling blue eyes and wickedly outgoing, but modest ;-) personality--of course only one could be a FIRST.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

My favorite all time movie is Gone With the Wind...and before you roll your eyes, just think about Scarlett--beautiful, smart, strong and not one ounce of conscience when it came to getting what she wanted--yikes! How did she do that? But I love action movies ala Jerry Bruckheimer and suspense ones as well. Please, though, nothing too scary...unless you'll hold my hand and tell me when it's ok to look.

Now books, so many and so little time. Ok, I even read those improvement ones--certainly a private admission in the making. Clive Cussler, Patricia Cornwell and Dean Koontz all weave wonderful stories, and capture my attention. Since fitness is near and dear to my heart, Women's Health and Fitness are two magazines I read monthly. Would you be surprised to know I have a subscription to Cosmo? Yes, me too.

For music, my ipod will attest to the eclecticness there from Maroon 5, Nickelback and Chris Isaak to Josh Groban, Clapton, Seal, Sting, John Mayer and RH Chili Peppers to Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Beach Boys and Phantom of the Opera and more, but I'd much rather talk in person and listen to some of your favorites.

Food, hmmm. Eat to live...

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

Six things not in any particular order:

My new 8G ipod nano.

Long Island Ice Tea in the summer or single barrel bourbon in the winter.

Travelling (the local beaches, Venice, southern France or absolutely anywhere) is a wonderful memory maker.

Hope for finding love again.

Kick-ass workout or dancing.

You? I realize you aren't a thing...

**The reality is there is probably only one and that is optimism for the future and my conscious decision to live every day happily.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

Are my 6 things really crucial, and realize that no, most are not. How an a-typical woman should answer the question regarding her typical Friday night.

I am wondering if OKC is merely a pick-up site as one guy has asserted. That is not my intent, or am I deluding myself? May I have goals of making new friends, reading new viewpoints, and most importantly, meeting a future partner? I know, I know, I am forever believing it is ALL possible.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

ready for some fun--run, bike ride, dancing, dinner or, dare I say it, doing the laundry?

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

Now, seriously, are you ready? I love a man's hands. The way they move and look so strong. Yes, it's more than the fact you can open jars that I can't. Whether you paint a masterpiece, coerce a piece of trim in place or crunch numbers on a calculator, one's hands certainly tell an amazing story.

Pretty underwear is a necessity--I'll skimp on lunch out to have the funds for beautiful things that make me feel fabulous!

You are a fairly fit and intelligent non-couch type guy who can string together a couple of sentences to hold up your end of witty banter. Tag, you're it!

Attributed to Leno or Letterman, |
but actually Craig R. Smith penned this wake-up call. Call me uber-optimistic or strangely myopic, but I think it's great food for thought for all of us--especially on challenging days. We have a multitude of blessings... As most of you...
