My self-summary
I'm a painter and a grad student and a complete nerd, though not necessarily always in that order.

Also: I'm awkward.
What I’m doing with my life
Finishing up my Masters thesis, working with a couple of non-profits (one art-focused and one science-focused), learning as much as I can, and painting when I get time.
I’m really good at
Painting and grant writing.

I've also recently realized I'm a pretty good cook.
The first things people usually notice about me
The bandana and, as soon as I open my mouth, the sarcasm.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut, Philip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov, Jules Verne, Michio Kaku. Lots of sci-fi and also sci-non-fi. I really wish I had more time for pleasure reading right now.

I like Tarantino and Coen Brothers movies. I really don't watch movies too frequently, though I do like to.

Oh - and Star Wars! ..but everyone likes Star Wars.

Some of my favorite shows are: Arrested Development (despite conflicted feelings on the new season), Peep Show, The Twilight Zone, and Venture Bros.

I'm kind of a music snob. My taste varies - though some of my go-to classics are: Rush, the Pixies, The Clash, and David Bowie. Lately I've been into a lot of lo-fi and shoegaze- Crystal Stilts, A Place to Bury Strangers, etc. My "right now" favorite is Temple Songs.

I've also been listening to Barton Carroll's new album on repeat. So beautiful.
The six things I could never do without
1. Music
2. Books
3. Art
4. Red Hi-Top Chucks
5. Coffee
6. Thai food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why art is important, why music matters, the cosmos, evolution, people, why so many people on here have such strong opinions about the Oxford comma, and who would win in a fantasy fist fight between Anne Frank and Lizzie Borden...
On a typical Friday night I am
It depends, I could be a number of different places...but chances are, there's a beer in my hand.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I know more about the Erie Canal, and find its influence on the growth of the nation considerably more interesting, than any normal twenty-something should.
