I am Curious, Analytical, and Inconsistent.

My Self-Summary

"Does not work well with others" - my report card from an arbitrary date in the 90's. Okay, but where was the box teachers could choose reading "excellent independent learner"?? I'm telling you, there IS no such box! Okay, so I have some issues with government systems such as the one concerned with the education of our young'ins. But really, that's not a crime.. yet... in this country.....

what I DO like is reading, investigative research, problem solving, introspection (in friendly doses), learning about all the ways to do things (my mother always said: "there's more than one way to skin a cat" - I love the idea of perspectives; that everyone sees the same thing differently - I like to learn how), movies, theatre, museums, people-watching, sociology (just an extension of people-watching, if you ask me), music, writing, historical fiction (see: reading), the experience of nature: meaning sitting outside for the pure joy of sitting outside. You know, birds, trees, the wind... all good things.

What I’m doing with my life

let's try: 'what is life doing'?

Life is. We are. I am.

I’m really good at

mediating conflict.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'd imagine how very tall I am. I hear it can be intimidating. Big smiles, I hope, offsets this dilema.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:

1984 - George Orwell
The Jungle - Upton Sinclair
The Way of Zen - Alan Watts
The Famished Road - Ben Okri
Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams

... and most things Historical Fiction

Movies: (most recent faves)

No County for Old Men
Gran Torino
One Week

Music:

Adele
Jack Johnson
Ben Harper

Food:

Anything but shellfish. I'm not allergic, but they make me go 'yick'.

The six things I could never do without

love, honesty, integrity, pride, time and space.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the interconnectedness of all things.

On a typical Friday night I am

at home.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm vulnerable to vulnerability.

You should message me if

any of this made sense.
