I'm a laid-back chica, who enjoys new adventures and new people. Traveling is a must-do in my book. Carpe diem...but within reason (yes, this is experience telling me so!)
You'll find me enjoying live music, poetry readings, art exhibits, hanging out, hiking, chasing after my fabulous and fun preschooler and our dog Gandalf. I love gourmet cooking and baking as well as do-it-yourself projects around the house. I just enjoy making my world beautiful.
Still live by the credo inspired by Thoreau: suck the marrow out of life.
I am incredibly independent, creative and self-reliant. I do need my own private time for reflection as well as for decompressing. However, I love new experiences, so that's why I'm always looking for a cool new place to visit and experience. I love going off the beaten path and pushing beyond my comfort zone.
However, it doesn't mean that I don't enjoy kicking back and relaxing with a good brew (my fave is Dogfish Head). Someone asked me, do I prefer more hoppy or more malty--asking that question is like asking whether I prefer brownies or lemon bars. It just totally depends on my mood. Great conversation is definitely a must in my book. Even though I can be quite intellectual (sorry UNC fans, but I went to Duke twice over and am a loyal Blue Devil), I can also be beyond silly and am known as a bit of a prankster.
So that means a SENSE OF HUMOR is a must! Having to date after a long hiatus (i.e. marriage) has been a wild ride, I will admit. Good thing I like roller coasters!
I characterize myself as a pragmatic idealist. I aspire to fulfilling the higher self and consider myself to be a cosmic person. I am a citizen of the world and a student of subtext and the subconscious. I believe in the existence of angels and miracles. I am grateful to enjoy authentic connections with my beautiful circle of friends. I am spiritual and believe in the concept of "greater human goodness." I try to always come from a place of loving kindness in all my interactions with my fellow human beings. I enjoy reading work by Thich Nhat Hanh, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, and other like-minded authors. I believe in the inherent beauty of the world.
In 2011, I traveled through Peru, Argentina and Uruguay from mid-July to the beginning of August. Followed by a trip to southwest France and Paris. And then to Hawaii to visit family. I love to travel. It would be great if you loved to travel too and can share your crazy international experiences. (Note: if you can explain the importance of toilet paper, it's a plus!)
