I am sarcastic, quirky, and a coffee addict.

My Self-Summary

I like geeks/dorks/nerds, reading, anything quirky/ecclectic, good food (I'm not picky!), laughter, camping & other outdoor/active things.

I'm shy and it takes me a while to get comfortable with people IRL that's why meeting online first works for me, I get over the awkwardness here before meeting. I can be introverted but I really value relationships...what that means in practice is that I don't make friends easily (picky), but I really like the ones I manage to get comfortable with. I'm picky and would rather be single than be with someone just because. I'm pansexual. I prefer a good looking personality to a good looking face. My definition of beauty is much different than others.

I tend to be fairly quiet most of the time. No, this is not because I'm stupid or smarter than you. Nor does it mean I think I'm better than you. I speak my mind when I feel like it or I have something to say, be it serious or irreverent. I don't speak out just to fill a void. Seriously, what is so bad about silence? I live for a good conversation.. I laugh at inappropriate times. I find a lot of humor in life.

I like it when you meet someone and they become a part of you, and you make an impression on each other and...have you ever made bread and watched it rise? When it's ready to punch down, you can make a 1/2" deep fingerprint in the dough and it sloooooowly returns to its original profile. I like it when people affect you in a way that lasts like that. I like feeling that I have made a dent in other people's lives, and them in mine. A sense of *mattering*.

To put it simply: I'm complex. You will not get to know me completely in a few weeks, let alone a year. And I'm OK with this. No, I don't intentionally try to hide who I am, I'm actually extremely honest and open-minded. I just see my personality resembling a labyrinth of sorts, and I have many paths in my personality that have yet to be discovered by myself or others. I also look for people who are similar to me in this regard. The brutal truth is that if I can figure you out in a short amount of time, I'll lose interest...unless you can amuse me. I'm totally captivated by those with quick wit/ sarcasm or are generally easy-going and fun. So I welcome crazy complex or simplistic people into my life readily. In general, I'm not really looking for anything except that which brings fulfillment to my life. If it makes me happy, I'm interested!

I'm can be very playful once I get overall my initial shyness. I'm capable of being wildly passionate and intense. I'm also a very loyal, dependable, and steadfast friend to those who have earned my trust and respect.

I consider myself a cynical realist. Being that I do believe people are capable of achieving and being much more than what they are, yet I'm continuously let down in the end. Am I judgmental? Sure, we all are in some way if you are honest with yourself. But I apply the same ideals to myself..

I love a good debate. I see it as presenting one's opinions, beliefs, and values and then putting them up to test against another's. While you also learn more about the opposing viewpoints and the person they are coming from, I'll accept your point of view but don't expect me to agree with it. Unfortunately, most people are not capable of this, instead stooping to yell louder than the other person and attacking them personally. Common ground can be met if you have respect for each other.

I'm an INFJ for those who are interested in the Myers-Briggs type .

What I’m doing with my life

Living simply and making room in my life for things that give me pleasure is important to me. I'm enjoying myself.

I’m really good at

Discussing hypothetical situations, making people feel comfortable, and being open-minded.

Oh, and I'm a klutz. Seriously, I can trip on air.

The first things people usually notice about me

Obviously the physical...I'm short. Hmm...what else? Oh, my hair is really long. ***Update 11/7/09*** I just chopped my hair. It's now below my shoulders and no longer touching the lowest part of my back. I'm donating 12 inches to Locks of Love. In the last 5 years I've done about 36 inches.

I can be quiet and I tend to people watch in social situations as it can be quite entertaining.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm always reading. I LOVE books! I constantly buy them and I need more bookshelves. I think Kindles are awful and the thought of a machine replacing my beloved treasures makes my heart hurt. That said, I've also never listened to an audio book. If I had to deal with traffic though, I might be into them. I love all sorts of movies. I tend to like most of the films that Focus Features puts out. I can't think of a genre that I won't watch. Music wise I mainly listen to rock but I do branch out. I'm not really a fan of rap though. As for food, I'm willing to try anything once. Okay, I take that back because now I'm thinking of that Bizarre Foods show. Ew. I know I should totally be more specific in this box. Everyone has these long lists of interests but mine constantly change.

The six things I could never do without

Obviously there are things that no one can live without like air and water. I'm not counting those necessities nor my glasses without which I could not see.

1. Family
2. Friends
3.Coffee
4. Books
5. Lip stuff (chapstick, gloss, lipstick)
6. Sewing machine

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life..it's amusing.

On a typical Friday night I am

thinking I should get out more.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

If you lend me your pen you won't get it back ;-)

You should message me if

you are witty and open-minded.

**Please note**
I'm not looking to rush into anything. I like communicating online because it gives me the opportunity to get to know a person through chats and emails.
