My self-summary
Native New Yorker, proud college dropout, dog and parakeet owner. Community theater enthusiast, urban ornithologist, fiction writer and aspiring private detective. Switchy; swishy. I don't shave my legs and it's fantastic.

ALERT: NOT INTERESTED IN MEN RIGHT NOW. I'm in a monogamish relationship with Twilltastic, with whom I am madly, dizzyingly in love. Check him out! Seriously, look at him! Is he pretty or what? He has basically ruined all other men for me. Sorry, bros.

Bisexual not in the "gender binary" sense, but in the "my gender and other genders" sense (so come at me, all you non-binary folks!). "Queer" is probably better, but sometimes I worry I don't deserve the label because I haven't done enough to dismantle the kyriarchy. Maybe we can dismantle it together on our first date. Or we could just get ice cream.
What I’m doing with my life
"Technically, I am a freelancer, which is pretty much a modern-day cowboy." --Liz Lemon
I’m really good at
singing like a Disney princess
identifying wild birds
adding milk and sugar to black tea in exactly the correct proportions
remembering your birthday
packing (what? I mean for trips)
The first things people usually notice about me
Cat-eye glasses and combat boots. Unless I'm walking my adorable little attention-stealer of a dog, in which case they don't notice me at all.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Wuthering Heights, Lolita, The World According to Garp, Calvin and Hobbes, The Group, The Imperfectionists, The Secret History; anything by Curtis Sittenfeld, Sarah Waters, Mary Gaitskill, Sherman Alexie, and motherfucking Dawn Powell (if you've heard of her, message me! I don't care who you are!)

Movies: An Education, Velvet Goldmine, Bound, Cabaret, Singin' in the Rain, Across the Universe, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Annie Hall, His Girl Friday, Project Nim

Shows: can we just talk about Orange Is The New Black forever and ever?

Music: Musicals. MUSICALS!!! My top three favorite musicals are Gypsy, My Fair Lady, On the Town/A Little Night Music (tied for third place). Honorable mention: Cabaret, Candide, Pacific Overtures, and the songs from Follies outside the context of the show itself.

Food: Tacos; all the tacos. Any combination of noodles and soup, from any culture. New England clam chowder. Bacon. Hot dogs, the more crap piled on the better. White nectarines. Cashews. Beer. Anything spicy. Milkshakes. Can we go back to talking about musicals?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...whether my dog respects me enough. (No.)

...whether I should have another cup of tea. (Yes.)

...what life would be like if I had a dick. (Probably not too different, except I'd have a dick, which would be fun.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My answer for this section used to be: "I use the men's restroom whenever there's a line for the women's restroom." Then a stranger messaged me to say that this answer struck them as "a little violent" because it was "indicative of a lot of cis privilege." Ever since, I have been obsessing over whether to change it, and if so, what to change it to. That's currently the most private thing I'm willing to admit.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like girls
  • Ages 21–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
...you want to go on a lady-date.
...you're a modern-day Artemis worshiper.
...you're a queer/bi woman in a hetero-passing relationship, and you just want to be friends and bond over that. It's kind of lonely out here!
...you want to talk about The Secret History. I ALWAYS want to talk about The Secret History.
