My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Man, I really shouldn't be editing this at 4 am, but I can't sleep so here we go.

I'm Alan. I'm currently attending PSU in pursuit of my PhD in Psychology. I also work part time at Fred Meyers, you know, to pay the rent. I'm from Toronto, but I've lived all over the place, including Portland, Santa Fe, and France.

I'm something of a shameless academic, and will discuss any topic at great length, even if I know nothing about it. I love logic puzzles, and games of skill. I attend a board game night every week, and it is a blast. If you think that board games are just Monopoly and Risk, then I have a whole new world to show you.

I'm really interested in a stable and fun companionship here. It seems I spend most of my time working, and that leaves little time for making new friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Schooling, working. Looking for ways to meet some new people.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I was once an expert fencer, and swing dancer, and I still can hold my own at both. I'm a great chef and I'm good at building stuff, breaking stuff, and rebuilding stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Usually people notice that I dress nicely. People tell me I have a calming voice, and a nice smile. Also, people often comment on my dark sense of humor, but that comes after I'm comfortable around someone.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. The internet. As much as I hate to admit it, I am a denizen of the internet.
2. Fine Cheeses. Seems self explanatory.
3. A good book.
4. A pencil + Paper/sketchbook.
5. Nice clothing.
6. Transportation. I can't stand to be cooped up for very long.

(note: this list is not in order of importance, but, rather, order of occurrence to me.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future, and the past, and where they bleed into each other.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually at a game night, or maybe at work. Otherwise I'm out doing something on the town.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really and genuinely think there is a beauty to math.
