My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I want to eat donuts, and drink coffee out of a mug and have a conversation with you about Topology.

If you chuckled at that (at minimum, even more so if you had a a full on guffaw), then I would definitely like to do aforementioned activity.

I'm a thinky sort of person. I think a lot.I think about the architecture of social networks and how the net sucks now that it's so corporate. I think about physics, especially quantum and astrophysics.

I like to create things, you can see "What I'm doing with my life" for that aspect. I have a very strong sense of social justice and compassion and empathy. I love cats, and they mostly love me. Dogs are hit or miss. Usually miss. But some dogs do like me right off the bat. I have a deep and abiding love for many people who I consider my friends. When it comes to social relationships, I prefer deep and narrow to wide and shallow.

I like laughter. I'm kinda sick in the head at times (I make inappropriate jokes about abortion and death camps now and then)... But I despise assholes who think it's ok to make rape jokes. That's the limit, for me. A good joke should really, in my opinion, be a solid commentary on social order and try to upset that order.

I am not a Christian, and I most certainly can't stand most of what passes for Christianity these days. But growing up in Christianity, especially a strain that preached more on the virtues of Jesus' compassion, I have an especially strong affinity for love of the oppressed and underdogs.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently working on a video game. Fracturing my tibial plateau and tearing my ACL. *sigh* (that was the event at the beginning of the year that changed my whole plan for the year). Living life, working, shufflin' along this mortal coil 'n all that.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being Devil's Advocate. Sadly, sometimes I play that role too much... ;P

I think I'm decent at giving good massages. I have a knack for finding the knots and using the right pressure, from very firm to soft, depending on the needs of the person. (I've thought about going to school for Massage Therapy). With my current leg issues, I'm thinking of going for Radiology/Radiography.

Parenthetical asides. I love them. And use them effusively.

Thinking in the abstract and trying to synthesize information. My friend says he thinks I write well, so there's that. I'm a bit wordy, though, no?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a big guy (to non-euphemistically say it, "I'm fat") I have nice eyes. I have great taste in 80s cartoons judging by the comments on my shirts. The geek glasses and the goatee and sideburns.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
VALIS trilogy by PKD (thought that last book sucked), Archaic Revival by Terence McKenna, Tao Te Ching, Dhammapada, End Game by Derrick Jensen, Millenium by Hakim Bey. Nth Man comic book series (if you were a teenage boy growing up dealing with the loss of innocence, reading a comic ostensibly about a CIA ninja assassin and childhood friend turned psychic nemesis and then finding something much deeper about the loss of innocence and friendship really can hit home)... And The Invisibles comics.

Movies: Fight Club (of course), Matrix (the first one, the others sucked), Tron, Blade Runner, 2001, Memento, Monty Python's films, Office Space, Kurosawa's Dreams, Cast Away, Legends of the Fall, Oldboy, Akira, City of God, and lots more I'm sure, if you pried. Those are off the top of my head.

Shows: I don't watch much TV these days. Mr Show, Sealab 2021, Voltron, Transformers, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Yes, I know maybe the last 2 episodes are hit you over the head Existentialism and High School Level philosophy, but it doesn't mean I don't cry any less when I watch the end :P And Serial Experiments Lain. (Apart from that, I'm not a huge anime fan, but I do appreciate the form when I find something unique enough to stand out.) Breaking Bad and Adventure Time are my two newer current faves. I've been told Regular Show is good, as well. I also love the animation style of Drinky Crow.

Music: Autechre, Boards of Canada, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares, Faith No More, Dead Kennedys, Dead Can Dance, Dead Prez, Minor Threat, Sex Pistols, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Shpongle, The Cars, Cyndi Lauper, Jimi Hendrix, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Parliament/Funkadelic, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Beastie Boys, Souls of Mischief, Hieroglyphics, EC8OR, Pizzicato Five, X-Dream, Infected Mushroom, Mogwai, Godspeed You Black Emperor, If These Trees Could Talk, and on and on and on...

Genrewise, it'd be be primarily IDM, Breakcore, Jazz, Funk, political, abstract and/or old school Hip-Hop, Psy-Trance/Goa and Post-Rock.

Food: PIZZA (P-I-ZZ-A... Gimme PIZZA! +1 if you get that reference)! I don't eat it as much as I used to, but who doesn't love it? Mexican food is always awesome. I like chicken in it's various forms. I respect and honor vegetarians and vegans and healthy eaters, I wish I could be one. I have a hard time being one, however. I'm trying to be open minded about food these days and have come a long way from my childhood menu of "meat and taters".
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) My Cat
2) Beautiful Music
3) A warm comfy blanket and naps
4) Sunny days!!! it's really essential (I have mild SAD, I think)
5) Laughter and humor.
6) Love - in whatever form - romantic, from friends, from pets.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Depends on the season. It can be Politics (Bourgeoisie - up against the wall!) to Music (who's got a new album coming?) to game design (what mechanic can I use for this idea?) to philosophy (what is mind? what the hell are we in the grand scheme of things?) and whatever else trips my trigger.

(well, I guess I sort of covered this in my "about me" as well)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing board games w/friends (usuually my 2 roomies: lemniscateheart and sophygurl; and throw in cadbunny and occasionally other non-OKC peepz); maybe playing WoW (just started it up again after a year hiatus), designing board games, making music. It all depends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm lonely but shy, so this makes for an awkward combo right now! I'm not sure what I'm actually looking for. I'd like to just cuddle, but I don't want a full relationship, but I need to have *some* connection. I'm a bit afraid of getting into any relationship because I kind of want to focus on myself and my creative side right now. Meh. So that's that.
