My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
UPDATE- Hubby and I moved into San Antonio proper on October 31st 2013 as we bought our furst house! We're close to Woodlawn Park now!
We're looking forward to being in the city and meeting more people!!! :)

I moved to San Antonio in June of 2012 after living 29.5 years in the Chicago, IL area.

My motto for life:
"Anything is possible!"

I have an MSW and very passionate about helping those in need. I am a practicing pagan and it is important for me to connect with others who at least are open to other non-traditional belief systems. I feel we can learn much from each other.

As far as my personality goes, it's very difficult to sum it up here. I am a very multi-faceted person. I'm not sure if any one label would ever fit me. I like to go an play in the dirt and with bugs (yes I like bugs!) and climb trees just as much as I like to get really gussied up and go out to a fancy-schmansy restaurant. I like to be outside and active and exercising just as much as I like to stay home and be curled up with a good book or watching the boob-tube. I have a bit of-- tomboy, goth, corporate conservative, kinkster, nerd, geek, femme, laid-back, free-spirit, artsy fartsy, detail-oriented, tattoo-loving, minimalist--I've got a bit of everything.

I recently married Hittori. We have an amazing, loving, fun, honest and open poly marriage. He's truly a gem of a man among rocks! :) I love him so very much. He's a wonderful primary partner!
Ladies, he's quite available! ;) I really miss the company of women (physical and emotional). I am just starting to date men again on a very selective basis. We are polyamorous. Hubby knows about this profile and relationships I have. I insist on full disclosure and I would like everyone to meet. Ideally, I'm looking for someone with whom I can have a deep and meaningful connection with. I want to be your friend as much as your lover. That being said, I'm approaching poly dating with an open mind and a open heart. I'm so down with meeting new people, goin' with the flow and seeing where things end up. I am not however looking for a quick tumble in the sheets. I am sex-positive and while I'm not against one-nighters, I'm ultimately looking for relationships with substance and real connections.

I identify as queer, not bisexual. OKC unfortunately doesn't have that as an option. *shakes fist in air in frustration*

*I envision poly relationships to be like a kid playing with a chemistry set...sometimes shit will explode but more often than not, something really cool will happen! :)*

I am not perfect, but I strive for self-improvement on a daily basis. Each day is an opportunity and a chance to do something meaningful and fulfilling for yourself and others around you. There is always something one can do to improve themselves and reach for their dreams.

I also love animals of all species. I enjoy a good cuddle and a good laugh. My humor ranges from the very intelligent to watching "World's Dumbest".

I highly value respect open, honest AND reliable communication. I have very little tolerance for people who do not also have this same respect for me. My time ( as well as your time) is too precious to be wasted.

I tend to be introverted and appear shy at first, but I do enjoy meeting new people, making new friends and dating awesome people.

I am quirky, dedicated, and loving life!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

I ultimately hope to make a positive impact in the lives of others while I'm here on this plane of existence.

What I'm doing here: I'd like to connect with others who share my interests and desires.

I want to further explore and learn alternative healing modalities. I'm currently a Level 1 Reiki practitioner.

Hubby bought a Viking Tribute 140M sewing machine for me and I'm going to take classes on how to sew! I'm interested in meeting others who can share their sewing expertise with me!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening. I also like to find solutions to problems. I often say, "There's always a Plan B."

I live by the quote, "I'll sleep when I'm dead!" Life has so much to offer and I want to experience as much of it as possible.

I'm pretty good at finding something positive in the most negative of situations. I really am, "The Eternal Optimist" to a fault at times.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve...except when I don't.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
-I am quite short! 5 feet.

-I am also quite nerdy and geeky and I wear that name with great pride!

-I have been told I have a great smile.

Things people do NOT initially notice about me:

-I can be fierce. I may only be 5 ft. tall, but I do pack a punch!

-I am kinky, both sexually and in personality. I tend to be the sub/bottom in relationships, but I identify as a switch. I have a Fetlife profile and if we connect I'll give you the handle I use there. I'm becoming more and more engrossed in the BDSM lifestyle and it's been an awesome ride so far. I look innocent. I'm a Social Worker by trade. I tend to dress professional and somewhat conservative. Wait until you get to know me! I will open up to you and show you the many facets of my personality.
-I have 7 tattoos. I love them and I love piercings.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
Anything by Sharon Shinn. I also like fantasy and sci-fi books and movies. I like to read really bad romance novels for the silliness factor (Those Harlequin books are so awful they're funny!) I also like spiritual books and pieces that cause one to think deeply. Rumi is one of my favorites. Also Barbara Kingsolver's , "Animal, Vegetable Miracle." That books makes me want to drop my life here and go live on a farm somewhere. (7/25/12) I'm currently reading "The #1 Ladies' Detective Agency" Series and "Cunt" I'm a self-diagnosed bibliophile as I have a book I read upstairs and one I read downstairs! :)

Movies:
Fantasy, sci-fi, I also like drama and real-life films. I also like independent films as well as foreign films, anime both movies and series. Comedies as well. From the very silly-Like ANY and ALL of the "Scary Movies" and their spin-offs, to more intelligent comedies like "Dogma". I also enjoy watching the BBC. Game of Thrones is am awesome series. My newest addition is Downton Abbey. I used to hate horror/action movies but I'm giving them a second chance. So far, I have enjoyed the ones I have seen!

Music:
That varies depending on my mood really. I DO NOT like country, unless it predates 1980. In particular, I like Emilie Autumn, Tori Amos, Zero 7,Type O Negative, Ladytron some house music, trance, dance music, anything with synthesizers, Coldplay], VAST, classical, bluegrass, folk, Nicki Minaj, Air, pop, Johnny Clegg, Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, Royksopp etc to name a few.
I also listen to NPR often. I like This American Life and A Prairie Home Companion, The Story, Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!...basically just put NPR on and I'm a happy camper!
I have also been given an iPod as a gift and I love it!

Food:
I'm not much of a meat-eater. I do like a good steak now and then. Wikipedia calls me a flexitarian. I like to bake and cook. I'm always up for trying new foods. Some of my favorites include: Indian, Native American, Thai, Middle Eastern, African, Southern, Japanese and Chicago-Style hotdogs. I've eaten at many different places in and around Chicago. May favorites are Lula, Naha, Green Zebra, El Cid, Honey Cafe and Bolat. I'm trying to navigate my way through the different food options in San Antionio. I enjoyed Iron Cactus, Casa Rio, Feast, Biga on the Banks, Halcyon, Mad Hatters, Jamaica Jamaica.
I prefer to cook at home most of the time. Some of the most awesome things hubby and I have made are-Crown Rack of Lamb for NYE, lamb stew made with lamb broth that we made from the crown rack of lamb, bison steaks, Kenyan-Style goat kabobs, awesome salads, homemade dressings, bread (by hand, not with a breadmaker), lasagna, red cabbage soup, brined roasted chicken.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee, my hubby, my car, my animals (two rescue cats and two rescue dogs), my family and my iPod.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future. I like to plan and dream about things to come. I also like to watch PBS, BBC America, Comedy Central, Adult Swim, cooking shows, Hulu Plus, and contemplate what I've watched. Fractal Math discussion anyone?

I'm also quite taken with camping in a tent. I'm dreaming and planning on places where I'd like to camp next. Being present with the raw power of nature is important to me. It helps recharge my batteries and is awesome to appreciate.

Dreaming of bike riding. If you know of any good trails to ride, message me!

I also like to swim, go fishing, go to festivals and carnivals ( in the summertime) lay in the grass and look at clouds and discern their shapes.

I also like to daydream of new places to try good beers and food!

Sex and kink. Having a healthy and safe sex life is important and fun!

In addition I also think about traveling. A lot. I love to travel and take road trips. I was blessed enough to be able to visit several different Native American Reservations in 2002 and do volunteer work there. While there, I went to two sweat lodges which were incredible spiritual experiences. I also went to LA after hurricane Rita and helped rebuild homes in the Southwest Part of the state. I went to Vegas in Winter of 2012 and saw so much there! I have yet to go outside of the US, but when the funds are available, I will explore this great big beautiful world we live in!

Sometimes I think about seemingly random and disjointed thoughts such as, "How can I make a stew using only ingredients I have at home?" Another thought I tend to have is what people are doing in their homes when I pass by their windows on the street. My mind wanders to thoughts of, "What are they having for dinner?" and "How many people live there?"

I also think about space and the Universe. There's so much to ponder!

More recently, I'm thinking about my pain and fear thresholds and how to safely keep pushing them further.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home for a night in or exploring SA.

What do I do at home? I watch movies with hubby. I do like to play video games sometimes. I also like board games table top gaming, RPG's Munchkin, Killer Bunnies, Magic the Gathering. I have a reputation for going to people's houses and falling asleep on their couches.
Or I'm discussing swanjos with Hittori.

In sum, it does not take much to make me happy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Even though I am giving them another chance, I am still scared of watching many horror movies. I hurfed once while watching "Sean of the Dead."

I'm not a big fan of sweets and desserts.

Thunderstorms give me severe migraines as does drinking too much.

Fart and poop related subjects make me laugh like an eight year old boy.
