I studied art in the Midwest for my undergrad, then decided that wasn't where I needed to be, so I ran away to Utah about 6 years ago for the mountains and deserts. I worked with at-risk teens here for a few years before going to grad school at the U, and I finished up my master's degree last year. Most of my free time is spent with friends or doing something active outdoors.

I do a lot of rock climbing, but I also like skiing, camping, hiking, and canyoneering. Photography is a big passion of mine and I'm using that as a guilt-free excuse to buy a shiny new camera in the near future.

I'm tall and my hair is dreamy.

I like KRCL a lot. I get most of my new music from there. Also NPR. I love Radiolab and This American Life. Some stand-up like Louis C.K. and Aziz Ansari.

I like reading popular nonfiction stuff like Malcolm Gladwell and Michael Pollan. I've read a lot of Chuck Palaniuk. I wish Annie Dillard were faster. Edward Abbey when he dials it back a little. Anything that's well written and thought-provoking, really. I tried very hard, but couldn't finish Anna Karenina. I figure 300 pages is close enough.

With movies, I can have fun with most anything, but my favorite stuff is the kind of thing that goes through The Broadway or The Tower. PT Anderson and Wong Kar-wei are always worth watching. Wes Anderson. Anything Pixar. I only watch TV on DVD: Arrested Development, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Louie, Party Down, Community.
