Books: Atlas Shrugged, Breakfast of Champions, The Book of Exen by
Barry Reese ( sorry had to toot my own horn! On second thought, I'm
not sorry)
Music: The short list would run from
ABC to
ZZ Top. Bands I've seen live include
the Who, the
Rolling
Stones,
Alice Cooper,
David Lee Roth,
Sammy Hagar,
Van Halen,
Blondie,
Jethro Tull,
Pearl Jam,
Kansas,
Letters to Cleo,
Timbuk 3,
Garbage (If you are a Shirley
Manson lookalike, you need to quit reading and get in touch NOW!!
If you ARE Shirley, then marry me and I'll take this and any other
dating site profile I have down and be everything you ever didn't
know you wanted in a man!),
Heart ( Sorry Nancy, I know I said the
same thing about you I just said about Shirley when I was 15, but
that big ex Marine working security when you came to the St. Louis
Arena on the Dog & Butterfly tour wouldn't let me anywhere near
the tour bus after all the guy band members had given me their
autograph),
Robert Palmer ( rest in peace with
your sailing shoes on). Typical black guy move would be to say no
country, but I like
Chris Isaak,
k.d. lang, and the twangier
Brian Setzer, post
Stray Cats
stuff. Atypical black guy move says no thanks to hip hop, whatever
happened to good old soul music, but
Kanye and
Ludacris actually do have a thing or
several to say.
Movies:
Star
Wars would have been my favorite at 15, and the sequels were ok
- saw each of them opening weekend in their respective years of
release.
Currently - Siesta (Ellen Barkin, where have you gone? I always
wanted to be Gabriel Byrne after seeing that) The Postman always
Rings twice ( the 40's version, though Jessica Lange was very sexy
in the '80s version), 300,Black Snake Moan, Sin City, Monster, Eyes
Wide Shut, Body Heat, for starters...
Food: Nothing beats a good steak and baked potato, but Chinese,
seafood, Italian are always gonna be good standbys. My doctor wants
me to go on something called the paleolithic diet - if the cavemen
didn't have it, we shouldn't eat it. I eat for taste. Life is
short, and to be enjoyed.
