I'm a pretty down-to-earth person with a quirky sense of humor and
a dash of nerdiness. I studied engineering/neuroscience in college,
but ultimately couldn't suppress a literary instinct, so I became a
science journalist (yes, that's a real job - basically, I get paid
to geek out about science, minus the pipetting and the matlab. It's
pretty awesome).
When I'm not hitting the phones or dangling a modifier, I enjoy hanging out with friends, reading a good novel, or getting outside - going to the beach if one's available, museuming it up, or just meandering (I do a lot of this because my internal gps is reliably bad).
Other random things about me, in no particular order: I grew up in Hawaii. No, I don't surf. But I can windsurf and scuba dive. I've been in zero gravity, but haven't been to space...yet. Ich habe in Deutschland gelebt. I've listened to neurons, and wrote a thesis on their activity. But I'd much ratther write sci-fi novels.
