I am honest, intelligent, and Silly.
My Self-Summary
Self-summary ? Well I don't really know where to start (I hate
these sorts of things). I guess I'm a fairly intelligent and kind
person who tends to put others before himself.
I'm full of useless information due to the fact I have a very good
memory.
I like making new friends as often as I can, though I'm quite shy
in person which is a contrast to how I am on the internet - usually
very silly with too many words spilling out onto a keyboard, which
can get me into trouble sometimes.
Fighting depression, its a boring thing to talk about really.
I prefer doing fun stuff to avoid thinking about certain
things.
If i sound crazy, don't worry. I save that for boring tuesday
afternoons.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently in the process of getting myself back on track in
terms of finding a career (probably something in the IT world,
something I've been resisting cos I don't want to be a telephone
support monkey "Have you turned it on ?" etc.).
Most of the time I can be found pottering around on the internet or
out walking in
Oxford, usually with my camera.
Photography is a good
way of keeping myself motivated as I still have a lot to learn
about the different techniques. You could say I'm slightly obsessed
with
photography
My flickr stream can be found here -

I’m really good at
Photography (still a lot to learn), understanding sciencey things,
getting
computers to behave themselves,
building computers and lots of other geeky things I guess.
I've been told I'm a good listener, whatever that means. I just try
and help people when and where I can.
The first things people usually notice about me
My shyness, blue eyes, sense of humour, my smile (though that is a
rare thing indeed to catch me smiling). My sarcastic sense of
humour (which can get me into a lot of trouble).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - I have a love for reading, so I will read pretty much
anything that takes my fancy. Favourite books (it's a mixture)
-
Harry Potter
series, The works of
J.R.R. Tolkien, The
Chronicles of Narnia, His Dark Materials series, Sophie Scholl and
the white rose, No Logo, A feast for crows....
TV - Shameless,
Buffy the Vampire
Slayer,
Doctor
Who,
Bones,
Fringe, and pretty much anything that takes my fancy while flicking
through the channels.
Movies - I love cinema, anything from the latest blockbusters to
international film. Favourite films -
The Goonies,
Ghostbusters,
City of God, Ong Bak, A beautiful mind, The Dark Knight,
Frankenstein, various Hammer Horror films, Dr. Strangelove, Or: How
I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb. If listed all my
favourite films I'd be here for a month of Sundays typing.
Music - Having spent my teenage years listening to John Peel on
Radio 1, I developed an odd musical taste with a few guilty
pleasures. I will listen to anything once. Favourite bands -
Radiohead,
Smashing Pumpkins,
Tool,
REM, Sigur Ros, Foo Fighters, Manic Street
Preachers, Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, No doubt, A Perfect Circle,
Slade, The Beatles, The Smiths,
Boxfive,
Bat For Lashes
Artists - PJ Harvey, Beth Orton, Jeff Buckley, Tori Amos and a lot
more. The more music I can find and enjoy the better...
Food - I'm relearning to cook at the moment, may have a bash at
baking at some point. Used to make cakes a lot as a child when I
spent my summers at my grandmothers house.
I don't have a particular favourite food aside from British
puddings which I should probably refrain from eating.
The six things I could never do without
music, friends, camera, books, doctor who, glasses
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of things really. I have a childlike wonder about the world
around me. I would list the things I think about but I would be
here until the next century or longer. I think at a million miles
an hour sometimes, which can drive me up the wall.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually in front of a computer or tv or occassionally out with
friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I've suffered with depression since my early teens. It's not a nice
illness to have, but I'm getting better at dealing with it. I also
like to be honest about having depression, as honesty is the best
policy.
When I'm not woe is me, I love learning about new things or
spending time in the Ashmolean. Though alas the Ashmolean has been
closed for the past year for a refurbishment. It's reopening soon,
so that'll be heading to the Ancient Egyptian stuff then...
