My self-summary
i'm a story-junkie. on multiple occasions, a stranger has tasted my mojito and called me an alchemist. i come from a huge family, but they're all back in Utah so you won't have to deal with 'em. when i let my mind wander, it always bee-lines for a place where people fight bears; i don't know why. i try to come correct.
What I’m doing with my life
wandering, reading, pondering, still trying to figure out exactly what i am and where i should be. trying to avoid becoming a total cliche. resisting the tamatebako. writing sentence fragments heavy on the gerunds, apparently.

i recently started working IT support for a bay area pharma company, which is kindof a sea change after spending most of my twenties bartending. sometimes it makes me feel real dumb, but i'm learning lots. having a desk is weird.
I’m really good at
enjoying a moment, telling stories, making people feel comfortable, finding the exact achewood strip you just made me think of in 30 seconds or less, forgetting what i was supposed to be doing.

OH! and making really bizarre, overly complicated metaphors. they make sense eventually. promise.
The first things people usually notice about me
i'm loud, especially when i'm enthused about something; people are always requesting/suggesting/demanding i remember my "inside voice." i also have a tendency to (mis)quote things or make weird/dumb jokes that are chiefly for my own entertainment, so people are often telling me they have no idea what i'm talking about.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
eugh. . . ok, top 9 off the top of my head because (a) i don't feel like digging through and making comprehensive lists and (2) because i'm slightly OCD about the number 9 (thanks a lot David Mitchell):

books:
Number9Dream, V., The Once and Future King, The Sea Came in at Midnight, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles, Cages, His Dark Materials, The Sun Also Rises, 100%

movies:
Rushmore, The Parent Trap, Wizard People, Dear Reader, Lost in Translation, Kiki's Delivery Service, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Clueless, The Dark Crystal, The Duelists

tv:
Saxondale, Community, Firefly, Green Wing, The Venture Brothers, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Futurama, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Veronica Mars

music:
Yo La Tengo, Yoko Kanno, Aphex Twin, Rilo Kiley, Massive Attack, Buck 65, Ted Leo, Jim White, Velvet Underground

food:
i'm pretty much a garbage disposal; i'll eat just about anything. though i always like it better if it's spicy.
The six things I could never do without
interesting people, euphemisms, hats, Tom Scharpling, stories, and MUSIC. you might totally know more about music than i, but i'm genuinely ALWAYS listening to something, unless i'm specifically prohibited from doing so.

sorry about the scary capslock.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
parallels, metaphors, stories, humour, my loved ones, language, the differences in the way each person experiences the world around them, style, how in the heck Blake Sennet does that thing he's doing with his pinky finger on whatever song that is.
On a typical Friday night I am
schemin' and /or groovin' and /or hollerin' and /or hustlin' and /or walkin' farther than you're probably wantin' to do and /or abusin' parentheses and /or abusin' bourbon and /or regrettin' lettin' bourbon abuse me.

ok you caught me; i was jokin' about the hustlin'.

GERUNDS!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
i am pretty dang scared of raccoons. if you'd seen some of the giant-ass suburban raccoons that share the late night streets with me, this would seem more reasonable than it probably does right now.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–34

You should message me if
well lady, if you know what chochacho means, you listen to the bugle, or you think that Papa Burch from HAWP is genius-funny, we'll probably get along just fine.

not to get too highfalutin' but if the learning=losing paragraph here (http://www.humansinvent.com/#!/13260/argument-when-losing-is-winning/) makes sense to you. i like learnin', and i like debating, but i don't like making people sad, so. . .

also if you play piano because HAWT.
