My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like stories. I like listening to them, I like reading them, I like watching them and I like writing them. I feel stories is how people connect to each other, by shared experience and shared emotion. Even if you never fought a tyrranical empire for revenge, you might get what its like to feel like its you against the world and that's what stories do for you.

I space out. Sometimes my head is in the clouds and I'm daydreaming about dragons fighting cowboys(yes, I've had this dream) and that's just part of me. I can go through dozens of real world, imaginary and down right odd fantasies in a blink of an eye and I enjoy it all. That being said, I feel like a conversation that really connects you with another person is more powerful than the wildest flight of fancy my mind could ever cook up. There's "magic" in fiction, but this invisible web that connects us the important people in our lives is nothing short of amazing.

I'm by no means a perfect person. I try to better myself from time to time, but I'm alright with being an idiot from time to time. Or most times. If its fun.

I think those blurbs right there, that's me. That's me encapsulated. Very shortly encapsulated. There's more capsules though.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have rediscovered my love for writing and have begun cutting out other activities to put more focus on it. It's a slow process but it is starting to come along nicely. I am currently preparing a blog and also working on a new fiction story.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am creative. I can take a small prompt and craft a story around it on the fly. I once gave a friend 18 different reasons he was spending the night on top of a roof. One was correct, two involved imaginary sports.

I have learned to adapt in a lot of situations so I learn new processes quickly. In my job I try to break down these processes to make them run smoother. Not sure if that is a true talent or not, but it tends to work for me. I did get a chance to apply this at a friend's wedding recently. Apparently event management is a talent.

The beard and the glasses, usually. My t-shirts has been known to catch people's eyes from time to time as well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - 1984 is my absolute favorite, I love dystopian worlds despite how scary it is that we have always been eerily close to one(1984 is based on Stalin's Russia after all). Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman is imagination porn, as is Alice in Wonderland. Catch-22 is the funniest book I've ever read and the Harry Potter books are a wonderful adventure to join in on. Anything by Vonnegut is an easy pick up as well.

Movies - Lost in Translation, Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, Royal Tennenbaums, essentially everything Wes Anderson really, all Star Wars(yes, even the prequels, I dig the political takeover), Back to the Future, The Seventh Seal, Pierrot Le Fou, Superman II(I'm a big fan of Superman on TV and in the movies)

Television - Buffy, Firefly, Angel, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, Star Trek, Coupling

Music - I get ecclectic around here, I mainly listen to indie rock/folk but I go to classics(especially psychedelic rock), metal, punk, jazz. My favorite bands currently are: Rural Alberta Advantage, BOY, Metric, Sleater-Kinney, Band of Horses, Grizzly Bear, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes, The Beatles, Daft Punk, Bleached and just so many more. I jump around a lot. I even listen to French music quite a bit, I think the language is pretty even if I don't understand it.

Food - I love Mexican food, a good taco is good for the soul. I love homemade Italian food too(can't do restaurant, my Italian grandmother ruined that for me). Good sushi and good Indian food can not be beat either.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My laptop, my notebooks, BOOKS, food and water(hear those are important), and good stories.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. Nothing.

I can zone out, as stated above. But in all honesty, my brain works like Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. It connects concepts by the smallest of common thread and moves on. Laying in bed waiting to sleep is the most creative time for this.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Writing. Or at least I should be and am probably coming up with every possible distraction that my brain can come up with.

On occasion I will break away and hang out with friends over some craft beers, watching a game(baseball and hockey are awesome) or maybe playing a game(board games are awesome).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm easily drawn in to shows and movies about teen angst. Have been since I was 14, still am. Not as easily drawn in as I was when I was 14, but a little bit of witty dialogue and I'm almost guaranteed to give it at least an hour of my time.

Any of the above is something that makes sense to you.

Also, if you're willing to wade through an awkward ice-breaking and small talk period, because I'm truly bad at that stuff.
