I polled some friends and family for a one word description of me...these were the top answers ...Generous, Spiritual, Creative, Kind, Loving, Easy-Going, and Jerk (I may have included an enemy in the survey).
I laugh out loud at Bugs Bunny cartoons, I play fantasy football, I love to cook and create new recipes, I believe the bible is absolute truth, and music is my main form of entertainment.
I am looking for a woman who knows how to laugh and cry out loud without holding back...somebody who can share their soul completely without mistrust or deceit.
My boys are all grown, and my grandkids come to live with me every summer (ages 6 and 7)...I also have a 12 year old grandson who lives out of state but rarely visits. My grandchildren are the light of my life, and I miss them terribly when they go home...but I make sure to keep open space for myself when they are here.
I consider myself to be a christian and a spiritual person...but I rarely attend church. I am not affiliated with any specific religion but I do attend a weekly bible study. I was raised Catholic but have attended many different churches over the years. I would like to find a woman who is spiritual, but not necessarily dogmatic about religion.
Music is a very big part of my life...all styles (I have even learned to appreciate the creativity of hip-hop..but I don't like it or listen to it) My sons write and perform songs, and I have even written some lyrics for them myself. I usually have music playing when I am at home. I would like my partner to appreciate music and enjoy going out to local bars and coffee houses to hear new local talent.
Football is big with me and my sons...we have a fantasy football league, and Sundays usually include a big pot of "Dad's Football Chili"...some beer...and a lot of yelling at the tv and gloating over fantasy scores...Of course we all root for the Browns, no matter who we have on our fantasy rosters. I would like my partner to at least tolerate a love for football, even if she doesn't like or follow it.
I believe that the key to any successful relationship is honesty...I consider myself to be a man of integrity and I will answer any questions you may have honestly. So if there is anything I haven't covered here...just ask and you shall receive an honest answer.
I can't read minds...or even body language very well, and so I rely on my partner to tell me what she needs or wants. And I will not assume that she can read my mind, so I will also be very open about my feelings. I need my partner to be able to discuss relationship issues face to face...with acceptance, love, and understanding...without judgement or anger.
I am ready to find a woman to share my life with...and one who is willing to share hers (hopefully it's the same woman..LOL). I need to spend time with a woman to develop a relationship...and if I am in a relationship, then I expect that we will spend a lot of time together.
I work very early in the morning...I have to be there by 4:00 so Im not much of a night owl..I am usually in bed by 8
Movies: Anything with Groucho Marx...but a few of my favorite movies are Unforgiven, Jaws, Pulp Fiction, Me Myself and Irene, Arthur, Dog Day Afternoon, and When Harry Met Sally.
Music: Anything that isn't on the top 40...I love music...but I hate the modern crap that passes for music. Give me anything from Hank Williams to Theory Of A Dead Man.
Food: I never met a food I didn't like. My tastebuds are not discriminating...Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Greek, or good old fashioned American hamburgers...but I especially love cooking, and re-inventing old recipes (I never make the same meatloaf twice).
5. A scalding hot bath
Where I will be ten years from now
Where the hell did I leave my keys?
What if I had taken that left turn at Albuquerque?
But on my nights off (Saturday and Sunday nights)....I am listening to music, writing, or working on my fantasy football lineup...depending on the time of year.
But the second most private thing Im willing to admit is that I still love to watch cartoons.
