My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Brodi.
I laugh at inappropriate moments and suffer from chronic wanderlust.

I am a workaholic. Some people think I'm a slave to my job, but I absolutely love it and wouldn't have it any other way.

I can be slightly opinionated, and set in my ways. However, I'm very open to friendly discussion, deep talks, picking peoples' brains, and sharing perspectives.

I'm sarcastic, and rarely ever serious. I'm super awkward at times, and a total goofball. I'm a full grown child, essentially, and I try to maintain a positive approach to life, however naive that may seem to some.

I love doing things on a whim if the means are there (and if it doesn't interfere with my job... that's serious). I like being outside after dark or before dawn, the sound of an acoustic guitar, dark and morbid things, music festivals, all things art, movies that make you think about life, writing, philosophy...etc. I love long drives to nowhere, for no reason; just to listen to music and enjoy the sunshine. I like good company, roller-coasters, a good book, pranking others, home-cooked meals, and adventures.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Full-time local government job. It takes a special kind of nerd to appreciate what I do; I've found it's very hard to explain my job without peoples' eyes glazing over...

[Music]
I pay attention to all things music, whether it's the song on the radio or the background music in a store at the mall. And yes, I WILL start singing that random song that you just unintentionally referenced when you were talking to me.
Some faves:
Brand New, A Day to Remember, Marianas Trench, The Audition, Emery, Of Mice & Men, Issues, Mayday Parade, We Came As Romans, Attila, In This Moment, The Smiths, The 1975. Betty Who, The Dresden Dolls, Placebo, The Black Keys, Bloc Party, Tom Waits, Angus & Julia Stone, Sleeper Agent, The Sounds, Amy Winehouse, Middle Brother, Johnny Cash, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Iration, Nicki Minaj, Yelle, Marina & the Diamonds, Justin Timberlake, and way way way too many more to list. I will listen to pretty much any genre.

[Movies]
Tarantino. Tim Burton. Wes Anderson. Christopher Nolan. Hitchcock. Scorsese. Any mind-bender, thriller, horror, drama, or quirky/obscure indie film. Also Netflix documentaries. I have a soft spot for all musicals and 90's rom-coms.
V for Vendetta, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Pulp Fiction, The Saint, Moulin Rouge!, Inception, The Others, Pan's Labyrinth, Crash, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Miss Congeniality, The Emperor's New Groove, You've Got Mail, Safety Not Guaranteed, Bridesmaids, Garden State, Timer, Rat Race, No Country for Old Men, The Orphanage, Watchmen, Step-Brothers, Pitch Perfect, A Knight's Tale, My Best Friend's Wedding, We're the Millers, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, the list goes on.

[TV]
Dexter. Orange is the New Black. Doctor Who. The Blacklist. Game of Thrones. Rizzoli & Isles. The Walking Dead. True Blood. Grey's Anatomy. Downton Abbey. Law & Order.
I don't really watch a lot of TV... most of these shows I'm horribly behind in watching, since I rarely have the time anymore.

[Books]
Stephen King. Chuck Palahniuk. Humorous autobiographies. Psych/Philosophy/True Crime Non-Fiction. Self-help books (because it's interesting how people like to dictate how other people should live their lives).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working late after everyone else goes home for the weekend. Pretty typical.

And then most likely out with my friends in midtown... or... curled up watching Netflix movies, eating take-out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm on OKC.

I have obsessive compulsive tendencies to brush my teeth multiple times a day and fix things in front of me.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
...you're still reading this?

I don't have the patience or the time to deal with everyone running each other through a compatibility test. I would much rather make a friend with no expectations, and actually hang out, and have fun, connect, and share experiences and good conversation.

So... I suppose you should message me if you're down to get coffee or food, rather than expecting to sit on your computer/phone messaging our life stories back and forth for weeks. I lose interest in that very quickly.

Also, have something more to say than "hey, what's up"
If you can't come up with a better ice-breaker than that, then we probably won't get along anyway.
