My self-summary
I'm creative, I am passionate, I crusade for various issues, I'm not afraid of going toe to toe with anyone when the wellbeing of others are in the balance. I don't fit into "the system," and although I'm not a bad boy archetype I'll walk away rather than try to adapt myself to something I am not. I have a college education and it has helped me in numerous ways, but I'm not a white collar type of person. I am not "settled" and at this point in my life I'm not sure I will ever feel comfortable being "settled." I roam, physically and socially. I'm always looking for opportunities to advance my pet interests, networking with people who might have mutual interests, and searching for my next inspiration.

If I reach out to you, it's because there is something in your profile that intrigues me. I probably also think you're cute or hot, but it's your interests and our mutual compatibility (by OKCupid's measurements) that prompted me to contact you. Romance isn't the only reason, I've reached out to people on here due entirely to mutual interests to discuss potential projects or just because they seemed like the kinds of people I'd hang out with if I lived in their area. I really like this site for all sorts of networking.

I am a sensualist. I find pleasure in many different things, including reaching goals. Some might call me a hedonist, though I wouldn't quite go that far. My philosophy is that life is full of tragedy no matter what one does, so enjoy what parts of it that one can. And share pleasure with others as well. There are many things that I have yet to try, simply because there are so many things to do. A lot of them I don't even know exist, but I am eager to discover them. Some people fear the unknown unknowns, but I welcome surprises from life.

Oh yeah, and I'm a geek. Examples are a couple of entries down. But for those who are not geeks, I clean up well :)
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I'm driving over the road for an expedite company. Two grown men, sharing a rolling walk-in closet. But it lets me do a lot of thinking. When the truck isn't moving I'm writing and brainstorming my next steps. I have three intellectual properties I'm trying to bring to market now, one a novel series, one a transmedia property (movie script complete, trying to get a deal with an independent studio that will let me keep control over the IP) and one of them an educational online game.

Once I have established one or more projects as viable and income-earning, I plan on leaving professional driving. Driving is where I am today, it is not where I will be three years from now.
I’m really good at
I've discovered that I am very good at figuring out how to make things happen, at taking a concept and playing with it until it is feasible.
The first things people usually notice about me
I would like to say my attitude. But it depends on whether my nose is in my laptop or a book at the time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Fiction: Anything by Terry Pratchett, Asimov, Lovecraft
Nonfiction: Just Six Numbers: The Deep Forces That Shape the Universe by Martin Rees, Skull Wars by David Thomas, many many others.
Movies: Escapism. Stuff that goes boom. Horror flicks. Special effects extravaganzas. Also, subversive musicals like Rocky Horror and Repo. Anime galore.
TV: Discovery Channel/History Channel series mostly, other than football.
Music: Everything from Billy Joel to Bjork to Manowar to Lords of Acid (esp. their early stuff)
Food: Bland American palate, I'm afraid, though I still sample different cuisines and foodways in small quantities.

Sample of my geekiness:
Tabletop RPGs I've played and enjoyed: AD&D, all editions (didn't like D&D 4E though); old WoD; Paranoia; GURPS; Star Wars
Board Games: Talisman, Risk, Axis and Allies, Diplomacy, Arkham Horror, Settlers of Cataan, Pandemic, lots of others I can't remember the names of
Online Games: Eve Online
Miniatures games: Warhammer 40K (Space Orks FTW! Well, for the fun at least), Battletech (the old version, not the clicky one)
Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion. Record of Lodoss War. Slayers. El Hazard: The Magnificent World. Macross Plus. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Many, many others.
The six things I could never do without
1.Music-- my life must have a soundtrack!
2.Books or Internet-- a good book makes for good digestion, imo
3. Places to get food and drinks
4. Um, shelter? Sort of odd to put down as right now I have no need for a permanent address. Trucker life does that.
5. Air, I guess.
6. a bunch of ratios that make the universe stable enough for life.

Yeah, those last four are cop-out answers, but there's little I actually *need*. There are many, many many more things I like to have, or really want to have.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to monetize my ideas, and how to use the result to change some part of the world for the better. How to build a better tomorrow, for myself, for my family, for others.
On a typical Friday night I am
driving or sitting at a truck stop. The life of an OTR trucker, unfortunately. I use this time to develop various projects, however, usually by writing or sketching out concepts. My goal is to work myself into a situation where my geographic location has no tie to my ability to sustain a decent lifestyle.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Someone doesn't understand the concept of "private thing."

Oh, alright. I wanted to be an American Gladiator when I was in high school. Fighting with giant Q-tips was really alluring to me back in the day. It reminded me of Double Dare without the questions. Or the green slime, which would have been an awesome addition to American Gladiators.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–42
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
This is a very interesting section. Why SHOULD you message me? The only reason would be that "it feels right." I'm willing to accept people on whatever level they are comfortable with, although there may be logistical challenges considering my very nomadic career. I'm not a "woman in every port" kind of guy, despite how my "Personality" page might present me. The more questions I answer, the less it feels like I know myself. OKCupid seems to extrapolate quite a bit from the "would you" type questions. Just keep in mind that I will pry into the inner recesses of your soul to try to understand you. Some find that more intimidatingly intimate than any physical act.
