a teacher, a minister, and a goofball

My self-summary Propose an edit

I am an elementary school teacher and minister. I am most passionate about my call to minister to young people through teaching and serving in my church. My best friends know that if God blessed me with the right ministry opportunity I would leave teaching for it.In my free time I enjoy reading, hanging out with my friends and studying the Bible. I am president of my local Kiwanis club and have many opportunities to do volunteer work through that and my church where I serve as minister to youth. My summers are spent working church camps.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

Right now I teach fifth grade and have served as minister to youth at a small Southern Baptist church. God has called me to new ministries and I hope to begin those as soon as possible. I enjoy music a great deal. I play brass instruments as well as guitar and bass. I used to play in a little Irish folk group, but they have since split up. I also play in the praise band at church.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

I'm good at making people laugh. I tend to find the humor in all situations, good or bad. I like to laugh, and I enjoy seeing others do the same. I'm also good at listening and relaying advice.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

I tend to read a lot of children's books as a teacher. Books can take us places we never knew were there and only show up in our imaginations. I enjoy reading just about anything I can get my hands on. My personal favorite will always be scripture. Some of my favorite authors are Louis LaMour Gary Paulson, Jean Craighead George, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Toilken, Christopher Paolini, and Eion Colfer. Sci-Fi and fantasy are great ways to escape. I also like adventure novels. Andrew Clements is great, so is Jean Craighead George for kids.
I have very eclectic taste in music. Louis Armstrong once said, "There are two kinds of music, good and bad." Duke Ellington said, "If it sounds good it is good." I take those two approaches to music. I'll listen to anything from classical, modern orchestral, big band jazz to folk, bluegrass and oldies. If you were to listen to the preprogrammed stations in my car they are NPR, 2 oldies stations, K-Love, and a local Christian station.
I don't watch a lot of TV or movies, but I do like a good comedy. I also like westerns.
I have food allergies, so if I don't get sick when I eat it I like it.
