I am myself, like it or not, and get used to it..

My Self-Summary

We'll open with the fact that I am not religious but I try and be a good person. When I was younger I set about defining a code of conduct for myself and pretty much have it down now. I used to have it posted here but it was long and made me seem a lot more intense than I actually am. If you want to hear about it let me know, otherwise I wont bore you with it.

Until recently I never knew how rewarding gardening could be. I planted some veggies last spring and thoroughly enjoyed them.

My car is almost ready to be driven on-road again (currently it is a track-car pending the arrival of my new DC Sports header.....CARB legal, baby!)

I'm a gamer geek. I've picked up the geekiest game around, Warhammer. Mostly I like to paint the minis, Makes me feel artistic.

Lets see.....what else? Oh, I ghost hunt. Ghost hunting is pretty much sitting around in old places (reputedly haunted) until I get bored. Sometimes there is unexplained activity but usually not.

What I’m doing with my life

Ordinarily I install satellite based internet systems (Hughesnet and Wildblue) and home/small business networks for a company based in Fairfield. The work is quite satisfying and pays well when sales are good. Currently the sales are not doing so well, the economy is in the toilet and the company has scaled us all back pending an improvement in the economy. In the meantime I have found work as a groundskeeper and landscaper, and am doing freelance web design, home network installation/repair, and pc repair. I've scaled back my living expenses to the bare minimum and have battened down the hatches to weather this storm like the trooper i am.

Also I've lost over 50 lbs and am starting to feel like I look great for once in my life. No fad diets, no surgery, no pills, just good old fashioned "put down the cheeseburger and do something"

I decided to write my own MMORPG in my spare time. Everyone seems so obsessed with World of Warcraft, I've seen it and I know that I can do better. Assuming I can market the thing I'm sure there is money in it.

I’m really good at

I'm pretty good at fixing broken computers and electronics. I can make almost anything work temporarily. In the cases that I cannot fix a device I can definitely cannibalize parts from it and use the parts to build new and crazy devices or to fix other broken things. I guess you could say I am good at tinkering.

I can cook. I have a handful of things i cook really well, and some other things I'm still working on. pasta, chowder, lentils, and fried potatoes are my specialties. still perfecting tom ka gai soup (its a thai coconut concoction), omlettes, and mussamun curry.

I just discovered that I am good at growing vegetables. I cant wait for spring so that I can plant roughly 50 times the Japanese black tomatoes I planted this year

The first things people usually notice about me

These days people tend to notice my hair. It's getting really long. Pretty soon im going to cut it off and donate it to a charity that makes wigs for kids with cancer. I've done this once before and its something I'm pretty passionate about. I remember how cruel kids were when I was younger, I cant even imagine what kind of target a bald kid is, and thats in addition to having to deal with all the crap they have to deal with for having cancer.

People notice that I appear much younger than i am. I'm pretty sure this has more to do with my personality than my looks. I'm a big cartoon character, consequently all my friends' kids think I am great.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Right now I am reading Hacking Exposed: 5th edition. Its a technical manual and kind of a dry read, but informative. Just finished Snowcrash a couple months ago, it was pretty good. I have a whole bunch of books on ghost hunting and the occult. They're interesting reads.

movies: Tank Girl, Clockwork Orange, the Starwars movies, The Warriors, The Doors, Platoon, Party Monster, Iron Man, Snatch, Lock Stock..., I just saw Watchmen and really enjoyed it.

I love cheesy b horror movies...especially those involving cannibalism and/or zombies, Nightbreed was a good movie too, I like funny stuff sometimes too, Rat Race cracks me up no matter how many times I watch it and will always leave me in a good mood.

Music: i'm pretty eclectic. i listen to punk rock, 80s music, classic rock, underground hiphop, techno, classical/opera, pretty much everything except commercial rap and most country

Bands I'm into include: The Clash, The Adicts, Oingo Boingo, Elvis Costello, The Beatles, The Doors, Beethooven, Sarah Brightman, Twiztid, Techn9ne, Tupac, Sex Pistols, The Secretions, Static X, Arch Enemy, Led Zepplin, The Who, Rob Zombie, The Avalanches, High Contrast, Prodigy, Powerman 5000, Get Livid, The Cars, Rage Against the Machine, and too many more to name.

I'm heavily influenced by the wisdom of certain people. George Carlin, Gallagher, and Henry Rollins just to name a few.

Food: I just love food, gotta be careful with it though. My favorite is Thai food. Truthfully theres very little I wont eat, so its easier to list that. I will not eat sauerkraut, most sausages, mayonnaise, or uni.

The six things I could never do without

There aren't 6 things I cant do without. There have been times in my life when I've had to do without things that most people figure are the very basics. I appreciate the finer things in life but understand that those things can be temporary so I dont really depend on them too much.

I suppose a better question would be what 6 things do I enjoy having around the most. My laptop, something to read, my loved ones, my Sirius Stiletto (MP3/satellite radio reciever), potatoes, some way of soaking myself (hot tub or lounging around in the shower with water running on my head)

update....living without the Stiletto, it was in the same pocket as my phone, phone rang and by chance when pulling my phone out of my pocket I managed to hook the stiletto with the antenna and toss if off my balcony. RIP Stiletto, you will be missed until I can take you apart and figure out whats wrong.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Right now I'm worrying a bit. I'd like the economy to improve so I can go back to making the kind of money I'm used to making. It's not really that NEED money, its that I like to spoil those around me and cant currently afford to do so. Lets be honest, I like to spoil myself too. Theres about 12 grand in modifications I want to do to my 5th generation Honda Civic. Until the economy improves I'm not even messing with it. (ok, laugh now, 12 grand in modifications to a car that bluebooks at $2500)

I have the tendency to think up new song lyrics that I don't want to forget. They drive me crazy until I can write them down, and by the time there is music set to them I am already sick to death of the damned things.

On a typical Friday night I am

These days I typically stay home on Friday nights. The friends I used to go to shows with are all on heroin and I'm just not into that scene. Perhaps if I had some new friends to hang out with I'd be doing something more interesting than "work, exercise, shower, dinner, video game, bed" every day.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I actually have "True" Spandau Ballet in my MP3 player (go ahead and laugh)

You should message me if

You should message me if you want to. I don't bite.....well not unprovoked anyhow, and my provoked biting has had very few complaints.
