My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello there! I'm glad that you decided to pop in! How are you doing?

Me? Oh, I'm great, thanks! Just sitting here trying to work on my profile. They're hard things to write, aren't they? You want to give the other person a good idea of who you are without saying TOO much. There must be some mystery there, right?

So I think that I'll probably write something about how I'm just your normal-ish, geeky guy. Do you think that word gives off negative vibes? Geeky? I can't decide myself - sometimes it seems like it goes both ways. Anyway, that's what I am so I might as well just put it in the profile. I'm into what's classically been considered geeky and nerdy things, at least. You know, stuff like video games and board games. And I used to be super into anime and manga when I was younger though that is mostly behind me now. I retain my interest in Japan, though - going to Tokyo is one of my most memorable travel experiences and I still plan on studying more Japanese at some point.

Traveling is another interest of mine, actually. Think I should put it the profile, too? In the last couple of years I've been to the aforementioned Tokyo, Manila (in the Philliphines.. Philliphinnes? I can never spell that country's name correctly), the US, England, Italy, Paris.. And so on. I'm hoping to travel some more soon - I'd love to go back to the US and/or travel around Western Europe.

Hmm. What else? I don't want the profile to be too long. A wall of text is not very inviting at all. So, I think I'll just leave it at that for the time being.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working, traveling, reading up on trivia. I LOVE trivia! Did you know that the world's first Luft Balloon pistol duel took place in France in the 1800s and was fought over a woman? And that none of the two balloon men managed to hit each other, but that one of them hit the other's balloon by mistake and sent his opponent tumbling to the ground?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Reading. Writing. Thinking of stupid jokes that no one else understands or think are funny. Procrastinating. Getting things done when I really have to.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably that I don't take must things super seriously. There are few things or subjects that can't be joked about.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
I read quite a lot. Not as much now (damn you, internet, for demanding all my time) as I used to, but I always try to have at least one book that I'm reading. I'm a big fan of fantasy, both serious and funny. Terry Pratchett, Steven Erikson, Neil Gaiman and Geroge R. R. Martin are a couple of favorites.

But I also read a lot of other stuff as well. Fact books, "normal" litterature, history books and so on and so forth.

Movies:
Let's get this out of the way first. I can't STAND college humor. Scary Movie, American Pie and anything with Rob Schneider or Adam Sandler? Yeah, I'm going to hate it. I don't think it's funny when people fall on their ass or make jokes about bodily functions.
Other than that, I have a pretty broad taste in movies. I have to admit to being a bit of an anime geek, so I watch a lot of that, as well as other animated movies. But I also greatly enjoy horror flicks, thrillers, drama, action blockbusters, comedies and so on. If I were to name one, all-time favorite movie it would probably be.... The Shawshank Redemption. But if you were to ask me tomorrow, I would answer something completely different.

Music:
Anything that isn't boy/girl bands, manufactured American pop stars or r'n'b. Just like with movies and books I have a very broad taste in music. Some of my current favorite bands include Röyksopp, Drive-by Truckers, Goldfrapp, Sigur Rós, Metallica, Freezepop. The one constant in my music playlist is Cornelis Vreeswijk. I never tire of him.

Food:
As of late, salad.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A computer.

The internet.

Books.

Music.

Friends.

Belly button lint.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
A lot of different stuff. I'm one of those people who get super into a subject for a very brief period of time.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
More likely than not I'm hanging out with a bunch of friends playing board games or just being social. I'm not much of a party animal, I guess - I prefer smaller gatherings.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It's a secret.
