I'm pretty down-to-earth. Even though I think school is important, I know life isn't all about work. I enjoy hanging with friends, exercising, and watching movies. I try to be optimistic and hope for the best.
Soooo, in the initial weeks that I had this profile, I didn't really put a lot here (the paragraph above was it, haha). However, I have visited some really amazing profiles, which have inspired me to include more in this "self-summary" section. I mean, let's be honest, putting more might end up back-firing on me, but oh well!
My name is Jamie, btw. Okay, so let's say you asked someone to describe me in one word. This is how the conversation would go:
You: "Hi there! How would you describe Jamie?"
Random Honest Individual: "Oh, Jamie is just so nice!"
This hypothetical conversation might seem silly, but it's creepily kind of true. A lot of people describe me as being "nice." But wait! There's method to this madness, because I do usually end up coming off as nice. I believe my character and sense of well-being have come from my parents. I think that the people we are raised by have an immense impact on how we develop as individuals. My parents are the most selfless, caring people that I have ever come across (but hey, they are my parents and I love them, but I swear I'm being truthful). I am, by NO means, perfect in any way, but I like to think I have a good head on my shoulders. I'm always concerned with the well-being of others. Whenever I'm with a group of people, I want to make sure that everyone is having a good time. If someone is not, I try my best to make sure they do. Working off of this, I cannot STAND mean people. I just don't understand why anyone would ever want to deliberately be mean to another person just for their own personal gain. Why be mean when you can be nice? On that note, I am NEVER deliberately mean to anyone. I have morals and I have a very active conscience. That is, I have a very powerful sense of what is right and wrong. If I am ever mean to anyone or hurt anyone's feelings by accident, you better believe I'll be giving an outstanding apology. Otherwise, it will tear me apart inside knowing I did something so cynical. However, just because I'm never mean, this does not mean I'm not honest. I try to be honest whenever possible. Is there ever a reason to lie? I understand that the world is not fair, but I do everything in my power to make it fair.
I've been told that I'm very mature for my age. Mature in the sense that I can articulate sentences well when I speak and write. I can sometimes sound intelligent even though I don't know about the topic at hand. Also, I'm a very logical person--I say things and do things because they make sense. For example, I break down cardboard boxes before recycling them so more will fit into the bag. If you keep them as big, bulky boxes, you're not going to get very far in life.
I like to hear what other people have to say. If I'm having a conversation with you, it's definitely not all about me--it's about you too! I'm very good at asking questions and forming more questions from the answers people give (listen people, this is when I'm face-to-face, not when I'm messaging--thinking of things to say through messages can be very difficult). So, I guess I'm good at listening, too. I have a lot of secrets--not my own, of course, but secrets of others. My friends and sometimes people I just meet end up telling me their whole life story and some very personal information, which I think is good. It's not healthy to keep issues bottled up inside, so if I'm the one to hear it, then so be it (your secret's safe with me).
I would like to think I'm a very humorous individual. I'm very good at saying random funny things to make people laugh. Because c'mon, laughter is clearly the best medicine. Whenever I do something funny, it really is completely random, so it's hard to give examples. I don't just sit in my room and rehearse a comedy act, it seems to come naturally.
When it comes to schoolwork, I'm going to admit that I'm a perfectionist. I just think that if you're going to do something, why not give it your all? Go big or go home!
Elephants are my favorite animals. Ever since I was younger, I've always liked elephants a lot for some reason. I've ridden an elephant more than once at the fair, and I've also been up close to an elephant - got to talk to it softly, stroke it's trunk - it was clearly an amazing experience. Ultimately, elephants are extraordinary animals, period.
I will try to write more as it comes to me. I guess I've just realized that if I'm going to meet people, I have a better chance if I can give a good description of myself.
