I am patient, forthright, and certain.
My Self-Summary
I hate having to condense my life into a tiny container, like soup.
Campbell's Condensed Jimmy.
But, nonetheless, I might as well make an attempt, in the interest
of doing my best to introduce myself to all you peoples. I'm not
the type of person who is ever going to be defined by my job, but
rather the people in my life and the things I choose to do in my
spare time. I grew up in Maryland, between DC and Baltimore, I go
to school in Philly, and it looks like I'll be in Wilmington this
summer. So consider me a child of the mid-Atlantic. I have a puppy
named Buddy, and he's going to be a very cute pain in the ass for
the next ten years of my life or so. Philly's cool and all, but I
need more interesting things to do...hanging out at a bar is great
and all but I need some variety. I get wrapped up in harebrained
ideas and oddball hobbies, and I've been known to make spontaneous
decisions requiring a fairly large amount of work and sticking to
them. Usually makes for a good story. In general I'm usually
spontaneous and open to interesting suggestions. And I like to
think I have a big heart.
ADDITION: I'm recently back on here after a break; I was dating
someone that I actually met on here. But she completely screwed me
over. So uh, don't do that. Be a little gentle in general, and
don't be surprised if I'm a tad cautious for the time being.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a law student. That and things related to that take up most of
my action, but my true ambitions are more along the personal,
having-a-full-and-happy-life lines and less about my eventual
career.
I’m really good at
Talking a lot, procrastinating while still doing a pretty good job
in the end, probably plenty of other things that seem like much
better things to be good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have absolutely no idea whatsoever. But feel free to let me know,
I'm raaaather curious.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I just read a marvelous book, and it provided a much-needed escape
to another time, and a set of problems that I could rest assured
would be resolved within the span of a few hundred pages. The book
is The Dante Club. My favorite book of all time is Beach Music, by
Pat Conroy, and I suggest everyone read it.
I love lots of movies, old movies, new movies, deep movies, dumb
movies, block busters, cult classics...I'm easy to please. And I
think that the company is at least as important as the film itself.
All time favorites might be Donnie Darko and Blues Brothers.
Music? Too much to even go into. Suffice it to say my taste is
ecclectic. Everything from blues to swing to grunge to funk to new
wave and most things in between.
I don't like chicken very much. Only certain kinds, mostly bad for
me. I like Italian food the best. I eat a lot of sandwiches. I can
cook a few things. I'm really not as picky of an eater as my family
thinks. If you can make good cookies, you score major points. But
you can score points by buying me a box of oreos or girl scout
cookies too.
The six things I could never do without
Love. Hope. Good friends and family, for being able to distract me
and make me smile even when things are at their worst. My Faith.
I'm somewhat of a sports fanatic. And I get nervous when I'm not
connected to the internet for more than a few days.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The people I care about, the mistakes I've made, the vast
uncertainty that is my future.
On a typical Friday night I am
What a dumb question. I don't have a routine, I can only see and
plan a few days in advance. Since this is a Sunday, I can't tell
you about Friday for two more days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Ask a question, and I'll answer it. I have nothing to hide.
You should message me if
If you feel like you'd want to get to know me. Simple as
that.
I'm happy to make friends. But for something more there has to be a
spark, not something I can really control, so don't take it
personally if I just don't see it.
