My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I had a GREAT cup of coffee today. If you love coffee and you haven't been to Sump, go. As a result of said amazing cup of coffee, I came to the realization that I am much better at my job than dating. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this new information... I suppose I should date more. Let's go!

And so you know just how long I've been on OkCupid: I am Adventurous, Ambitious, and Awesome
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've just left my job of over seven years to start my own business. This little endeavor is consuming most of my time and thoughts, but I'm trying to balance that out with training for a triathlon and bike ride across Iowa in July.

I'm also picking up my guitar again (please don't ask me to play) and possibly running another marathon in the Fall. I'm staying busy and trying to get the most out of my life.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
sleeping, my job, laughing
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
A barista recently told me I had a face that is easily remembered.... so... my face, maybe?

Also, I'm completely random, but I usually finish my thoughts...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm not a very avid reader, and when I read, most of my time is spent reading technical literature and journals... but, I have in the past read for pleasure and enjoyed: Blink, Outliers, The Firm. My New Year's resolution is to read at least two fiction works this year.

I don't particularly watch a lot of TV (I don't have cable), but I do enjoy Netflix and British comedies: The Office (US/UK), Community, The IT Crowd, House, Outsourced (yes, I know it was only on one season), Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Reno 911, Family Guy, and most recently - Peep Show (British comedy). Update: I've watched all Netflix available Peep Show episodes. On now to Sherlock, my new favourite, and Louie. Check with me in a week. I'm sure to have watched all the Louie episodes, too.

I was recently told I don't have enough exposure to movies. I like going to movies, and I like watching movies, but apparently I don't do as much of it as other do. Anyway, some of my favorites: Stranger than Fiction, Tombstone, True Grit (both renditions), Slumdog Millionaire, 40 Year Old Virgin, Top Gun, Days of Thunder......

My tastes in music are constantly evolving. I'm getting into Johnny Cash, but I have 26 Pandora stations that I'm constantly flipping through. Among live acts I've experienced: Willie Nelson, Nora Jones, Guster, Sheldon Williams, Ryan Adams, Sheryl Crow, the Bare Naked Ladies, Billy Joel, Elton John, LIVE, Ben Folds, and Norah Jones. Some of the artists/Genres I enjoy: Bob Dylan, bluegrass, jazz, The Beatles... I really enjoy almost anything but hardcore rap and techno. That said, if I'm at a club, I want to hear a little rap and techno.

My pallet continues to develop... I'm really trying to enjoy as much variety in diet as possible, but I'm failing miserably. I dig most Thai, Italian, and American; some Chinese, Vietnamese, and Mexican. I don't like onions unless they're caramelized, cooked well into the food, or deep fried. :-)

Noteworthy: Low fat mozzarella has no business on pizza.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good food (ok, not really, but I do like good food)
Laughter
Fun
The Sun

Great Friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the Future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Recently, working. For the upcoming season: on a patio with friends listening to live music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I might be a really horrible camp fire builder..... and.... I live on a one-way street.

I sometimes dance with my eyebrows.

I don't always follow directions.

Update: I can now build a kickass campfire.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like spur of the moment planning, having fun, laughing, and most things outdoors.

You should really message me if your idea of fun is going rock climbing, floating down a Missouri river to celebrate the first day of the year, hiking, or caving.

You should really, really message me if you live in the City. If you don't live in the City, please live very close. I'm sort of a distance snob. That said, some things are worth the drive - like a tasty chocolate chess pie. :-)

You should NOT message me if your idea of a perfect day is sitting at home on the couch.
