My self-summary
Hellooooo Chicago!!! Welcome to Day 8*!

I'm a transplant from Kentucky by way of St. Louis. I moved to Chicago for a new job that I love.

I dig Coffee, Crayons, and Creativity. (or at least two of the three)

What I’m doing with my life
Not enough. There is SO MUCH to do!

The seeds for the fall 2015 list:
-a beer festival - any suggestions?
-Corn Mazes
-Bonfires with friends...
I’m really good at
sleeping, my job, laughing
The first things people usually notice about me
A barista recently told me I had a face that is easily remembered. So... I'm going with my face.

Also, I'm completely random, but I usually finish my thoughts...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm not a very avid reader, and when I read, most of my time is spent reading technical literature and journals... but, I have in the past read for pleasure and enjoyed: Blink, Outliers, The Firm. With every new year, I resolve to read at least two fiction works.

I don't particularly watch a lot of TV (I don't have cable), but I do enjoy Netflix and British comedies: The Office (US/UK), Community, The IT Crowd, House, Outsourced (the ONE season), Parks & Rec (no spoilers - I've not seen the final season), 30 Rock, Reno 911, Family Guy, and most recently - Peep Show (British comedy). Update: I've watched all Netflix available Peep Show episodes. On now to Sherlock, my new favourite, and Louie. Check with me in a week. I'm sure to have watched all the Louie episodes, too.

I was recently told I don't have enough exposure to movies. I like going to movies, and I like watching movies, but apparently I don't do as much of it as other do. Anyway, some of my favorites: Stranger than Fiction, Tombstone, True Grit (both renditions), Slumdog Millionaire, 40 Year Old Virgin, Top Gun, Days of Thunder......

My tastes in music are constantly evolving. I'm getting into Johnny Cash, but I have 26 Pandora stations that I'm constantly flipping through. Among live acts I've experienced: Willie Nelson, Guster, Sheldon Williams, Ryan Adams, Sheryl Crow, the Bare Naked Ladies, Billy Joel, Elton John, LIVE, Ben Folds, and Norah Jones. Some of the artists/Genres I enjoy: Bob Dylan, bluegrass, jazz, The Beatles... I really enjoy almost anything but hardcore rap and techno. That said, if I'm at a club, I want to hear a little rap and techno.

My pallet continues to develop... I'm really trying to enjoy as much variety in diet as possible, but I'm failing miserably. I dig most Thai, Italian, and American; some Chinese, Vietnamese, and Mexican. I don't like onions unless they're caramelized, cooked well into the food, or deep fried. :-)

Noteworthy: Low fat mozzarella has no business on pizza.
The six things I could never do without
Good food (ok, not really, but I do like good food)
The Sun
Great Friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the Future.

tiny houses.

On a typical Friday night I am
Having a drink on some sort of patio.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I might be a really horrible camp fire builder.....

I sometimes dance with my eyebrows.

I don't always follow directions.
You should message me if
You like spur of the moment planning, having fun, laughing, and most things outdoors.

You should really message me if your idea of fun is rock climbing, floating down a river to celebrate the first day of the year, hiking, caving.

You should really, really message me if you live in the City. If you don't live in the City, please live very close. I'm sort of a distance snob. That said, some things are worth a bit of travel - like a tasty chocolate chess pie. :-)
