I am an honest, open-minded person.. a little earnest at times maybe (but I hear that's supposed to be endearing...?). I'm pretty down-to-earth, a bit dorky, more than a little crass. I'm not big on drama. I am super lefty and do activist work whenever it feels like it makes sense and I have something practical to offer. I have a daughter who's awesome and hilarious, in my totally unbiased opinion. She lives half time with me and half with her dad. I think I have a really good life.

I'm interested in meeting some one who is open to non-monogamy but isn't in a primary relationship - pretty specific, no?(!) Yeah, I know. Feel free to ask me about it.

Right now I teach part-time at the college level with hopes of breaking into the tight downtown Toronto high school teaching market. My goal is to teach social studies - I'm a big fan of learning/teaching social history, world issues etc.. My other job involves helping tenants troubleshoot their landlord troubles.

When I'm not working I try to have as many adventures with my daughter as possible. I prioritize spending lots of good times with my great, good friends. Having good talks, engaging in debauchery and such-not.

This is challenging. I'm not big on self-aggrandizing. But...

I have often been told that I give good advice (which is a very nice thing to hear). I'm also surprisingly good at helping friends' move. And I am a pretty darn good whistler.

I'm pretty small, I bet that's noticeable.

some books I love: The God of Small Things, The White Tiger, anything by James Baldwin. Kurt Vonnegut has a special place in my heart too.

movies: almost anything by the Coen brothers, The Wrestler, Milk, The Godfather Trilogy, Pretty in Pink, True Blood (I know, I know, it's a TV show), and I'm a sucker for a cheesy musical number (Hairspray? Dirty Dancing? oh yeah!)

music: I'm one of those annoying people who seem to be incapable of describing their musical tastes. Varied. Wide-ranging. I confess to a lot of Indie Rock tastes. Classical, Bluegrass, Reggaeton, 80s Nostalgia...

food: I love great food, from my solid meat and potato foundations to anything from Thai to Mexican
