I am an artist/musician and I'm in grad school studying physics. I've been trying to figure out how to write songs since I was 5 years old. It's fun.
I don't have roommates. I have a studio app.
Things I look at:
-When looking at profiles, in the "questions" section I go straight for "the race question." I pretty much look at that, age preference and desire to have kids before reading anything else. Those seem like the fundamentals.
-I also look at level of education to see if we can be on the same page.
-Fitness is also very important. I am not at my peak fitness but it is something that I have made a lifestyle commitment to. (I think that it's a little unfair to write someone off even if they're "slightly overweight." For ME, being more active is something I've been incorporating into my everyday "lifestyle" for the last 3 years or so and my level of fitness has improved noticeably. I'm not where I'd like to be yet but it is a lifestyle for me. I also feel like every other quality that I have is very good and believe that making that judgment "on paper" is not the same as making it with a living breathing person.) I was not a fat kid, I was skinny and started gaining weight in my late 20's. I'm working on that now.
I don't think we need to have every interest in common. I'm always curious about what other people like, things that wouldn't have occurred to me. I say when we are exploring one of YOUR interests then you take the lead, and when we are exploring one of MY interests then I take the lead.
