My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I suffer from a deplorable excess of personality.

I converse mostly in sarcasm and one-liners. I have a background in theatre and improv and I love to perform. If you are a girl, a background in the arts is a huge plus. I love trying new things and being around people, but I'm also passionate about movies, books, video games and other nerdy things. Whatever suits the mood, I suppose.

But don't let me fool you into thinking I'm all fun and games. I live in Indiana but I work in downtown Chicago. I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana by my father and grandmother. I lived in the city for three years, but I moved back home in 2010 when my father passed so I could look after my elderly grandmother. This can be a bit overwhelming at times but I seem to make it work.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've recently been on a big "self-improvement" kick. Over the last several months I have been focused on diet and exercise and am in way better shape at 30 than I was at 20.

I recently switched careers to Information Technology, and it's a bit daunting, but I love challenges. This is a field that is constantly changing, so it suits my temperament.

I try to stay active in local theatre. I did three shows this past year and probably need to take a bit of a break. I don't think you'll be seeing me on the silver screen any time soon, but it's a fun and fulfilling hobby.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Thinking on my feet?

and... um...
The first things people usually notice about me

Humor. My gift, my curse! I've been told that I'm always "on." This is pretty cool because it means I'm generally a pretty entertaining person to be around. This is not so cool because it is really hard to be taken seriously when you're trying to be serious. On the other hand, I can usually be as sarcastic as I want and people just assume I'm really THAT dumb.

All of them! ;) What? Not so helpful and a cop-out?

Books: I tend to go for fiction, and I find myself attacking multi-book franchises. Stephen King, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series, Harry Potter. Your typical fantasy/horror/sci-fi escapist fare.

Movies: This is pretty much where the "all of them" comes from. Shaun of the Dead and Jurassic Park are the movies that never seem to slip off my list. Jurassic Park? Yes, that movie came out when I was ten and I got a little obsessed. I still like the characters and it's a smart little summer blockbuster. Plus, NOSTALGIA. Shaun of the Dead should need no explanation if you've ever seen it.

Shows: I tend to get into most shows after the fact and just blow through the entire series, consuming as much as I can about it. Lost, Whedon stuff (Buffy/Angel/Firefly.) Lately I've gotten into Breaking Bad which has some AMAZING acting on display.

Music: I tend to veer toward alternative. I grew up on Q101. Rise Against, Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails are the three bands that never really leave my top ten. They tend to leapfrog each other a bit, depending on what my life is doing at that moment.

Food: I'm usually up for just about anything. I like to cook, too, but I haven't gotten to do much of that lately.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My family
2. My friends
3. My brain
4. Food
5. Shelter
6. Clothing

Are we cliched enough, yet?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Doing things that matter, thinking of a way to make each day a little bit more different and exciting than the last. I think about how to improve myself and become a man that my father would have been proud of.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either out with friends or doing something relaxing at home. Everyone answers all of these the same, right?

My work week is generally rather long and arduous, so by the time Friday rolls around I am ready to cut loose. Karaoke, anyone?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I.
Killed.
MUFASA!

Actually, that's not true. Um, I was stuck by lightning once? It wasn't really that bad, though.

You're not put off by someone who is just a bit too unique for his own good! But honestly, we can all look good or bad on paper. If you want to talk to me, talk to me.
