My Self-Summary

Hi and welcome to my profile! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. (I actually do enjoy writing these, no lie!)

Firstly, about me - I'm relatively awesome, and might be one of the more interesting people you'll meet here. I grew up in Indiana and escaped as soon as I could fend for myself. I came of age in NYC, which feels like home to me, but I've freely chosen to live in Seattle for the last 15 years. I'm the goofy/nerdy type and attracted to same. I love all kinds of play with wordplay atop the list. I enjoy reading the wikipedia, taking random walks through google maps, and noodling from chord to chord on guitars when away from technology. I've traveled extensively, started and sold a small business, and am currently focusing on making music in my time away from my time-consuming day job. I hate being bored. I love people who love people like me.

Speaking of love, I'm here to connect with interesting people in person. Are you interesting? Connectable? A person? If you are local to Seattle, that's a huge plus, but if you are sincerely interested in meeting and live elsewhere, there might be chances. Also note: I'm transgender and attracted to bi guys, bi girls, trans girls, and straight guys who aren't quite. In other words, if you are towards the middle of the Kinsey Scale, we could be a match!

What I’m doing with my life

I'm trying very hard to balance work and art and love and friendships and looking for help on making the last three at least even with the first one. If you want to make nice, make music, or make sweet love, I'm open to most possibilities.

I'm especially interested in connecting with musicians. I am in a band presently, but our practice schedule is light and I'm eager to find a side project or a collaborator for songwriting. I'm not a virtuoso, but what I lack in chops, I make up for in enthusiasm and dependability: I don't flake!

I’m really good at

Solving for X. Curing the hiccups. Seeing forests instead of trees.

I'm a reasonably good writer, and I can probably make you laugh.

The first things people usually notice about me

1) I'm tall!
2) My hair is usually unusually colorful.
3) My deep dark eyes.

I also have nice ankles, but I don't think they are usually noticed very quickly.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Growing up, my favorite book was The World According to Garp, which I devoured in a long midwest summer weekend at 16. I'm not sure I'd like the book as much today if I re-read, but it meant a lot to teenage me.

My favorite movie is proabably Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but I also really love Groundhog Day. There's a common theme there, right?

Music: nobody speaks to my heart like Neko Case. Lately, I've been especially into Os Mutantes and Yeasayer. And I recently discovered The Puppini Sisters who I suddenly adore!

Food: yes please. If there's a better meal in town than the prawn sandwich at Paseo, bring it on!

Games: I like social games, analog or digital - poker, Settlers of Catan, Rock Band, etc. I also like suspenseful console games, but I kind of hate the super violent stuff.

Quote: "You, Kant, always get what you want." - Hedwig

The six things I could never do without

1) Lately, sunshine. I am close to reaching my quota of Seattle winters. Therefore...

2) Airplanes! Specifically those aimed south and east towards more well-lit locales.

3) I love my little tenor guitar, and I miss it when I'm away.

4) I have a favorite ring that has bittersweet sentimental value. If I lost it, I'd be quite sad.

5) I'm very dependent on my iPhone, but if it vanished, I would survive, so it doesn't really count.

6) The future - my favorite time period!

I spend a lot of time thinking about

You and your bewitching gaze.

Ok, not really. At least not yet.

On a typical Friday night I am

Atypical. Actually I'm atypical seven days a week.

Am I not taking this stuff seriously enough? I think I will start spending a lot of time thinking about that.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Already admitted. Done!

You should message me if

If you made it this far, I think you should totally message me. Don't you? I will try very had to reply in a timely way. (Please don't IM. Email = good, IM = meh.)

Big bonus points if you are over 30. I'm much younger than the calendar says, but if your Mom is my age, that takes me to a freaky place I'm not excited about.

Special note for our polyamorous friends: while I have great respect for your multiple-partner emotional/time management skills, one lover at a time is all I can currently manage. If you are interested but married, "married", or otherwise committed to another sexy beast, please check back with me later if/when you become untethered.

Thanks and have a fab day!
