I am splendiferous, bonodorous, and frameless.

My Self-Summary

I'm fairly low key, but when I get enthused about something I am intense. I'm a musician, teacher, and handyman. I like to learn. I like to cook, usually simple but once in awhile fancy things with multiple pots and pans. My flat-mate (I use the term flat-mate even though it is pretentious. It's just because roommate is not really accurate because we don't sleep in bunk beds and apartment-mate is too awkward to say. I felt I needed to clear that up because I hate pretentiousness) and I just redid our apartment. Actually our friend who knows what he's doing did most of it, but we helped. I put new flooring in our kitchen with just a little help from our neighbor. It looks great.

I'm a helpful guy, almost always lends a hand when needed. I like giving gifts that are surprising and perfect.

Music is important. I spend at least a couple of hours everyday practicing and writing it. I can play almost any Beatles song and I gladly will if asked. Recently I've been learning ragtime guitar.

I just realized there are no pictures of me smiling on my profile. I'm going to add a couple.

I'm not sure why OkCupid thinks I'm less romantic. I'm really not.

What I’m doing with my life

Living it. Teaching many a guitar student. Breaking into publishing. Staying healthy. Watching movies and hanging with people. Paying attention to the news, but not reading as many in-depth articles as I would like. Occasionally jumping for joy or speaking in an Australian accent. I just began writing music reviews for a fairly well hit website, muzikreviews.com.

I’m really good at

Brokering peace accords. Learning songs by ear. Lifting with my legs. Being curious. Scrabble™. Making clever jokes. Handling crises (that's the correct plural, I looked it up). Kissing.

The first things people usually notice about me

My wonderful aroma. Probably my red hair. I don't really know, so if we meet you can tell me.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I really like bread. Love New Haven pizza, it's amazing. Chinese food, Italian food, sushi, There's too much music to list but it goes something like this: The Beatles, Coltrane, Radiohead, Sonny Rollins, Lenny Breau, The Walkmen, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits...some classic rock. A smattering of random new things and classical music...

I watch many movies, Netflix is one of the most important technological advances of my generation, I'm not joking. I just watched Tyson, Not Without my Daughter, Will Ferrell is hilarious, I'll watch almost anything that's good, it doesn't matter what genre.

I don't read as much as I used to. On the Road, Oliver Sacks, Siddhartha, there are others. I read Atlas Shrugged last year.

The six things I could never do without

A guitar, laptop, warm sweaters, animals...how many is that? At this point I would have to say the internet...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Food, music, jobs, traveling, I'm saving for a trip to the west coast next summer.

On a typical Friday night I am

Home, getting to bed early. I work early on Saturday.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm a grown man who has two gerbils.

You should message me if

You would like talk with me for any reason. If you've ever eaten a fried twinkie.
