My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'd describe myself as driven, ambitious, passionate about my work, but seeking that balance between career and friends.

I'm originally from the East Coast (read: can be blunt) and lived in Chicago for a couple years after college (read: can grow a full beard, can handle cold weather). I miss my family, and public transit, but LA has really grown on me. It's a city that's trying hard to get better, and I respect that.

I love wine tasting, board games, good and bad sci fi. Good HBO dramas can get me out of a bad mood, but I would say dark comedies are my favorite genre. My radio is almost always tuned to KPCC or KCRW - and if not that, a podcast such as This American Life, RadioLab, Market Place, or Savage Love.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a working composer and video editor here in Los Angeles.

I take my career pretty seriously and would like to find someone who feels the same way about theirs!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Keeping my fridge stocked with breakfast food.

Finding avant garde marching bands to play with (mucca pazza, Killsonic)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably the dimple in my chin-ha! But usually it's easy to tell I'm from the east coast because I'm a pizza snob and I've yet to find a slice that compares to John's Pizzeria on Bleeker St.

Music- my career. Used to be solely my passion, now I make money from it. Which has definitely changed my perspective on it. I approach music VERY open minded...I have to, since I'm often asked to draw influences from bands or styles I might not otherwise gravitate towards. Plus, going to school for music inevitably opens the mind up to new ideas.

Adele, Belle and Sebastian, Nine Inch Nails, Tschaikovsky, Stravinsky, The Magnetic Fields, Balkan Beat Box, Mucca Pazza, Bjork, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel, The Beatles, The National, Arcade Fire, Led Zepplin, Bear McCreary, John Williams, Thomas Newman, Jon Brion, Nellie McKay, Michael Giachinno, Philip Glass, John Adams, Bang On a Can, Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Shostakovich, John Cage, Andrew Bird

Books- I used to read a Hardy Boy book a week in grade, moved to Sci-Fi in middle school, was intrigued by the meta-physical universe in Tom Collins and Murakami, and now I seem to have devolved as I devour books by Asimov and Harry Bosch mystery novels.

Just finished Asimov's "End Of Eternity" (awesome). Currently reading Steve Job's Biography, Even Cowgirls Get The Blues (stalled). Some other favorites: Wind-Up Bird Chronicles, Jitterbug Perfume, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Fountainhead, Ender's Game, Siddhartha, Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The War of Art, Middlesex, 2001, anything by Alan Moore.

Movies - Donnie Darko, Sideways, Labyrinth, The 5th Element, Annie Hall, Magnolia, American Beauty, 25th Hour, Children of Men, Gattaca, The Hours, Star Trek II, Lost in Translation, Sunshine, Before Sunset, The Bourne Movies

TV - House of Cards, Game Of Thrones, 30 Rock, Community, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, The Daily Show, Lost, BSG, Buffy, Seinfeld, Babylon 5, Star Trek: TNG, Parks and Rec, Downton Abbey, Sherlock (BBC)
