Hey everyone. I'm Spike. Well, it's my net handle, anyway.

I may have given up in general with being the first to initiate contact with people on this site, so if you're interested, you'll just have to message me first!

I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, (CFS), so it's hard to just go out and meet people on a regular basis, hence the internet and OKCupid are here to help! If I meet interesting new people on the site, then at the very least I'll have people to talk to from the comfort of my home using a broadband connection. Better still though, I hope that perhaps I'll make a friend or two to meet in person, but without the hit or miss gamble of going to a social venue at which I initially know no-one.

I like talking to random people on the internet as you're generally a lot more interesting than people are in real life. I've talked with people on this site on all sorts of subjects, ranging from 'normal' conversation topics like music and film, to things people may not openly talk about, like Polyamory or in depth philosophical and ethical debates. Perhaps it's because internet people like to talk about things they wouldn't normally discuss in person, and I think that's possibly one of the most interesting results of the anonymity of the internet. Do you agree, or disagree? Discuss. :P

I've had a very strange life and have lots of stories to tell to anyone who's interested. I also like to listen to the stories other people have to tell. I'm told I'm a good listener.

I'm trying my absolute best to be one of the good guys, though I realise it means I'll likely finish last.

I am a huge nerd, seriously, and proud of it.

I currently can't work because of my CFS, so I spend most of my days on the internet, playing video games or musical instruments, or visiting friends. Really, I guess you could say the only thing I'm doing is trying to get better.

I'd like to think I'm good at Violin, Mandolin, comic art, and a few other things I can't find any real world applications for. I have some other interesting skills, but those can come up in conversation. I also seem to be better at solving other people's problems than my own.

I'm also very good at making people laugh and feel comfortable. And my hugs are not to be missed.

I've no idea what people first notice about me. Probably that I'm male. Also that I'm slim and very pale. Other than that, I guess it depends what they're looking for in me.

He's also got beautifully shaped eyebrows!

He's possibly the sweetest, most sincere guy I've ever met.

Books: Zombie survival guide! I know it's not popular to say so, but I'm not really interested in reading a lot. Movies : Too many to mention. There's quite a few that have changed my life. Music : Strangelove / Patrick Duff! But then, I bet you don't know who they are. The rest of my music tastes you'd probably at least have heard of even if you don't like it. I'm fairly alternative / rock and roll, I guess. Foods : My taste in food is very bland and British, for which I'm sorry.

Mind, body, soul, love, friends, sex

Ok, so sex isn't mandatory, but personally I think it'd be nice. As for the others, I think they're essential for existance. Obviously a body is needed. As for mind, soul, love and friends, I think that if even one of those elements were missing, a person could go seriously insane and their life wouldn't really be worth living.

Everything. I can't stop thinking about several things at once. It sometimes gets a little noisey in my head as a result. Maybe I'm going insane. Anyway, I think about all sorts, from reliving the past to what I would rather be doing. I'm one of those people that never thinks about just one thing at a time. A lot of the time I see the world through the eyes of a frightened child, as I simply don't understand why the world is as it is.

I'd love to say I'm out on the town, or curled up on the sofa drinking wine with a couple of attractive females either side of me, but it'd be a lie. I WISH I was that cool. As I said before, I don't work due to my CFS, so Friday is just another day, and I don't have particular plans for most days. I just do whatever comes to mind.

Honestly? I wish I was special, and I want to save the world. I fear that perhaps, (interesting as I may be), I may be just another guy. Other than that, I have some rather interesting secrets about my private life, but the key to entertaining is to always leave your audience in suspense, and I'm an entertainer at heart.

You're a really cool person who won't judge at face value. I'm actually a pretty nice guy, though admittedly a little strange. And honestly, I'd prefer to be strange than percieved as normal. I might say it's sometimes good to know that you're insane.

Only message me if you're an honest person, tolerant of people's differences, and aren't afraid to talk to a guy who can be brutally honest about his emotions. I just want to talk to people I can be open with.
