The weekend

The weekend
... Wow what a weekend, considering i had a stretched budget and a limited pool of resources I must say that it was possibly the best weekend I have had this year.
I'll begin on Friday night when I finished work. I met my friend cayleigh and we were bummed cause we had nothing to do. After some deliberation we decided to have an eat out night night and go to zugames in Caulfield. Upon arrival we soon discovered zugames is shit. There food is overpriced and tastes like it came out of a can!
Leaving that disappointing shithole behind we went to the internet cafe on the way home where Cayleigh told me about “spooky system” this event consisted of many of Melbourne underground Hard style Djs +more over half a dozen stages. It sounded like a good event. Not a lot of our mates were going but we still thought it would make for a good night since the ones that were going were notorious for off the hook parties and wild weekends... pleased with our plans we went home and tucked into a bottle of cheap wine and vodka to pass out.
Saturday was hot! We spent a lot of the day preparing for the undoubtedly massive night ahead. We received an sms from one of the DJs playing that night informing us there was a problem with the initial venue in port Melbourne and that a new venue had been set up near Carlton. Upon arrival at this new venue there was a police car waiting at the top of the street with its lights on and a lonely police woman trying to shoo off any party goers. Flipping the proverbial bird myself and Cayleigh passed the cops and went down the park at the end of the street where I must say I was very impressed with the setup that the boys had accomplished. Half a dozen off stages set up by various crews all ready for the dynamic range of electronic music that was supposed to grace the night. There was a police car already waiting down the bottom and a cop chatting with one of the organisers. We knew the night wasn’t going to go too far at this point but it was still fun to hang around and watch the events unfold. Word had it the police were awaiting backup so one of the organising crew said fuck it, fired up his generator and got on his decks. I’m not sure of the track he was playing however it had some fantastic bass and made even I (the regular fat man) want to dance! I danced for around 5 minutes before I noticed 2 or 3 police officers from the fine Melbourne fraternity of law enforcement flashing their flashlights at the DJ in an attempt to catch his attention. I’m sure he could see but he wasn’t going to let on to the police. The police mounted his stage and tried to shut him down. Whilst wrestling with the officers for a little while he turned off the music until they released their grip on him then like a flash he reached around the cop and hit play again much to the police officers surprise. It was absolutely classic watching the cop looking at the decks trying to work out how to turn it off. The DJ quite cleverly stopped the music for him which is just as well as the cop looked like he was about to nightstick it.
We waited around for about another 10 mins while the cops had words with the party goers and organisers tried to have their story heard. Finally the backup arrived in the form of a minivan full of cops a massive truck/paddy wagon that probably had a capacity of 20 odd people and a few sedan and station wagon units.  Coincidently it started to rain very heavily at this point so it seemed like a good idea to bail and call it a night.
A friend of ours had pulled up at the top of the street and we happened to know he would have a few blotters of acid on him! We got in the car and when he asked “have you got something for me to put it in” we could only reply with “our mouths”
Leaving the car we jumped into a taxi and headed to another friends place in Brunswick. They also had taken some pretty serious acid and wanted us to join in their adventure. Tripping for a few hours was awesome we went walking around Brunswick to 7/11 (which is so unappreciated in its local community) and to the park where we made friends with trees and visualised our own rave lights streaming off the lamps that illuminate the park at obscene hours. Our friends bailed and went to bed but we spent the night smoking cones and talking shit about the universe life and endless possibilities of reality. We took a joint with us when we left there around 6:30 AM. The weather was beautiful it was foggy and misty with not a car on the street or a person around. We sat at the tram stop at the end of the street and smoked said joint before the journey home began. We caught the tram and train home eyeing off all the other people who had gotten trashed and were awaiting the first transport home and once we arrived home we drank till we literally passed out.
Twos an eventful weekend.. pretty full on and badass... as a side note I would like to give special thanks to everyone who I can’t name for whatever reason but if you happened to cross my path on the weekend then you indeed did influence it and I would like to thank you immensely. Special thanks also to the organisers of spooky system you have no idea how shattered I was that it was broken up cause I wanted that event to pump all fknnight!!!! Keep working on it boys ill be at the next one for sure!
