In case my photos don't give it away, I love hockey. Grew up with an ice rink in my back yard, and have played since I was four. I no longer play competitively, but I am working on a getting into the NCAA as a liney (but I would settle as a ref).
Outside of the rink, I love to read a good sci-fi or horror or military novel (think Terry Brooks, Dean Koontz/Stephen King, Tom Clancy) as a good way to spend a quiet night in, as well as watching movies or playing games (board, card, or video). When I do go out, a night on the town can include (but not limited to) dive bars, sports bars, down town (either Denver or Boulder), or whatever else comes my way. I have discovered that the gym is a great way to release stress as well as work on my health and get into better shape. The mountains are another way to get away, and seeing as how I spent 8 weeks in a boot last summer and did not get out camping/hiking (I had planned on 4 14'ers during that stretch) I still have the itch. So the current plan is at least one 14'er a month, hopefully two! Rocky Mountain National Park is by far my favorite local getaway, but I don't much care to go during the busy season. When I am in the mountains, I much prefer to get out and away from the craziness of that follows masses of people (if I want the crazy, I will go to Denver or Boulder). Oh, and I recently rediscovered my interest in archery and the longbow. I will be getting my bow first week in June and I plan on shooting at least once a week, hopefully more!
