I am a city boy by birth but a country bumpkin at heart. I would like someday to live in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere surrounded by puppies and fat grandchildren, and yet I've spent most of my life in cities. I suspect this is a form of self-sabotage.
I consider myself to be low-key. I enjoy museums, monuments, nice restaurants, cheap beer, and obscure cultural references. I have had an impressively diverse array of jobs, from serving coffee to teaching gymnastics. I drink a fanatical amount of caffeine (I'm better about this now. A bit.) I will still not be a morning person after I've finished my coffee, but at least I will be able to perform basic human tasks like reading Buzzfeed articles and listening to Taylor Swift songs on YouTube.
I am passionate about history, politics, languages, the oxford comma, and creativity. I have a biting sense of humor but a bleeding heart to match it. I am always open to new friends and am always looking for people who can challenge me.
I believe in free markets, good coffee, and that I have a personal responsibility to save the world.
