My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Man, I hate this shit, I remember when I had to so short essays in high school on the first day of class, " please tell me a little about your self" Like I am narcissistic enough to be able to sum up who I am in a short paragraph. Ok well maybe the issue is that I am too narcissistic and have too much to say. I am really not sure these days. But with that said I guess it's time to let the narcissism begin.

Where to start where to start, I mean I could tell you all sorts of stuff about myself, who I am and what I do, but most of it would be self promoting bullshit. I guess what sums up the core of me is that I do the best I can to help those who I am able to help when I can. I'm not always happy about it, but it seems to me that is the best any of us can do.

As far as Who I AM... Hell, I don't think I really know these days, I have been going though a lot of changes as of late. I'll guess I'll start with the facts. Well my name is Joshua I’m a 37-year-old from Columbia Missouri who 8 years ago moved to st Louis, I’m a college graduate with a degree in experimental Psychology and a minor in art and anthropology. I used to run a group which is currently in full retirement called black hat ( link dead for now, where I researched the unexplained, (when I have time which is never anymore) also I read tarot cards and and a full service psychic. But when I started the case management and social worker gig a almost a decade ago, I put this mostly down because I just did not have the time or energy for this anymore. I still read the odd spread of cards these days when I have time, or for friends but not much more than than. It just takes too much out of me.
I write too, right now I am a co author on a hopefully webcomic and never to be published manga called Hex'd., The artist and creator of the idea to my to my dialog-monkey self got his child back and had a second child with special needs so it is dying the slow death. It's a real shame because it was really good and we had more than one company who wanted to pick it up and put it out. I also do some short story work right now I am really into steampunk and am working on a new comic or story in a steampunk back ground. I also do a lot of prop making and have been featured on Geeks are Sexy and bong bong, and in the books Yan han's 1000 incredible costume ideas and the international steampunk book of fashion. I'm a fairly creative and driven person so my interest tend to change a lot. I guess it would do to say I am more brains than brawn, that is to say unless you count my mid section. The word chunky comes to mind, as in the bits in cookie dough ice cream, Ah food, how I love thee. Yes I love to cook too, and am a foodie.

I love to read, mostly text books or reference books, but fiction is good too. If its fiction its likely a classic like Edgar Allen Poe, or H.P. Lovecraft. When I read I tend I get on kicks and read everything from one author I can get my hands on. Right now I am reading the Wheel of time series from Robert Jordan, and just finished the watchmen. I love TV too, mostly Sci fi, shows that got my attention lately are Dead like me, battle star galactica, stargate, Eureka, warehouse 13, bab 5, the middle man, firefly, doctor who and I love Supernatural as well. Orange is the new black, defiance, and Copper are on my new watch list. There always seems to be a new show that I am getting caught up in, I think that Netflix will one day be the death of me . Likely because the bothers on that show remind me so much of me and my best friend Dan who I used to work with on the Blackhatparanormal stuff, Also I am a huge bruce campbell fan, but then again who is not, I mean to know him is to love him it seems.

I have a degree in psychology, a B.S. in fact, which is so appropriate its not even funny. I have worked for the last 7 years as caseworker for the mentally ill homeless. Most of what I do is outreach to shelters anymore but in the past I did a lot of street outreach. My job used to more or less consists of taking mentally ill, drunk drug users, in to see the doctor, cleaning them up helping them out and and getting them homes. In short I take 15 of hard to deal with people until they can stand on there own two feet again or we move them to long term care like a residential care facility. Its not great work, and its not clean work and its not good paying work, but at least its the right thing to do at the end of the day. I took a a break and after seven years it was needed, I think I will worked on my art and writing for the for a while and opened a etsy store called Clockwork's creation's which sold my working steampunk creations and leather goods. But all good things must come to a end. I went back to social work, but Now I am a doing most of the same stuff, but for a private firm with a lot less bull and am able to help a lot more people with a lot less risk to my self.

As you might have guessed I am liberal, I lean way to the left. I hate Bush, and I am so glad he is gone, I don't like the war, and think most of corporate America is a bunch of money sucking vampires that want to squeeze money from a stone. I am pro death penalty, pro choice, but not pro abortion for just any reason under the sun, other options should have to be explored, but n the end is the man and woman's choice alone. I think ever house in America should have a gun, and training to use it. I think oil companies need to have windfall taxes, and I all for a staggered tax asking for more from those who make more than they can every use to live on. I also am heavily pro environmentally minded, and I think this is because we are just stewards of the earth and not its masters, but thats because I am native, Cherokee/Osage to be exact.

I love to party, and I am a killer bartender, I am known for my crazy costume parties I throw. Most of them are pretty wild with little clothing left on people by the time I kick people out of my house at the end of the night. On that note I am a hell of a dancer, mostly old school swing dancing, you know with all the swings and the lifts. I love too cook too, Alton brown is the man in the kitchen and I love his show good eats. Its really gotten me to take my cooking to the next step. If you ever see me ask me to cook you my apple cider vinegar and orange juice chicken Also I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world Gwendolyn hart, you can find her on my friends list.
I Like Sci fi, watch a shit tone of movies, and generally spend way to much time reading things on the net. Luckily most of what I read has some degree of learning involved. Speaking of which I love to read, text books mostly, well sadly, but I really like them, if its not a reference book then its fiction in the fantasy sci fi or horror category. Only most of it was written near 100 years ago. I just polished off the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft. Of course there is a lot more to me than that. For one my day job is a caseworker working for the mentally ill homeless, those guys you see on the street, begging for change. Yeah its my job to get them clean and into a house taking there meds. I like to play table top role playing games as well.

I'm a Gamer from table top to larp to computer, anime, all around geek. Games played, 3.5, d20, gurps, fung shui, C of C, most any horror game, dislike white wolf but have played most of it.)
VIdeO GAMES I used to be a big gammer back in the 80's and 90's but with work I almost never have time to play anything. I was real big in to warcraft and starcraft before WoW came out, I just can't devote that type of time to a game anymore. I would really like to get in to second life however. I own a hell of a PC and play some MMROPG, the last one being city of heroes and D and D online, under the name Gaberal nesto. I Still play a little warcraft 3 now and again, but mostly I like cheap flash games. My wife got me a Wii for my birthday, the sweet things she is woke up and went to the store at 6 am to wait in line in freezing weather. I love her and I love the system too. The games really get back to the core of gaming, having a good time regardless of the graphics, the games are fun and challenging. Some times simple is better, but that said I cant wait for some really good RPG's to come out for the damed thing. I own a ps 1 and several old games play now and again mostly the final fantasy games. My real favorite prized game system is my old 8 bit nes, I love the old games, they really take me back to being a kid. I also have a super nes and a N64. Oh and for the record I love to play table top games too, card games as well, but I really have not taken the time to for about two years, but I would love to get back in to it.

I am intelligent, wise, and obnoxious
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I be honest, I am looking around right now, I just got a house, rehabing is mostly done and I own the damned thing, no loan for me and my wife. I think I want to keep helping people, but its taking a lot out of me, so .... maybe its time to find a way to help more people with less work.

I am still in to Sci fi, watch a shit tone of movies, and generally spend way to much time reading things on the net. Luckily most of what I read has some degree of learning involved. I like to play table top role playing games as well but have not gamed in the last 2 years for lack of a group but I would like to find one. I just got invited to a game and I hope it will get off the ground.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Problem solving, As of late I am in to this steampunk thing. I love to build stuff, but it really has to work for me to interested. I mean what good is building a portable back pack mounted bar if you can't drink out of it. It works like a charm btw, here is a video of me with it on I'm the 4th one in

With a little luck and with some help finding plans for a power supply I will be building a 2 watt andf a 35 watt laser IR and a smart home interface as well as a net based security system. It should be fun.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hat and my hair. I guess it just stands out. In the winter its that I have the Beast on. AkA the 14 pounds of black leather I call my coat.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Army of darkness, anything by Kevin Smith, most things based on classics or comic books, or 40's plup-fiction books. I have a huge collection of anime, trigun being my top pick. I must have over 2000 titles in my library of movies and DVD's. Television
Cartoon network, sci fi, anime, 80 sitcoms. Tones of stuff really, if its got a good plot and I dont get bored right off I will watch it. Mostly Sci fi lately, shows that got my attention are Dead like me, battle star galactica, stargate, Eureka, I love Supernatural as well. Doctor who is really got me watching this season.
Robert Jordan wheel of time, hitchhikers guild to the galaxy. I have a collection of over 1500 books in my library, most of them are text books on the occult or myth. I love a good history text book as well. If it can teach me or give me insight on another culture I am hooked. Fiction is great as well, as I listed above, I love it. Recently I just polished off the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft. Next I think its on to the devil in the white city, which is about the U.S.'s first serial killer in the 1888 worlds fair in Illinois.

Music, well I love everything really, swing to 80's pop. Not really fond of country, or rap however. Lately I have been on a kick with the good doctor.

As for food, well I love to cook, and I guess my favorite food has to be New, I love trying new things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My wife, that would be at the top of the list, and I hate to say it, but man I love the net. All this worthless info and windows into lives I have nothing to do with, its great, I psychologist dream, oh and there is the wikipedia thing too. After that, well toilet paper, roads and commercial transport, hot water, and the international communications system. Medical treatment ranks up there as well.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Things that will never happen, too world that don't exist and places I can never go. When ever I let my mind wander it will tangent down what ever its last thought was, more often than not, its about how I or the whole of humanity would deal with world changing events like massive gamma bursts hitting earth or the Yellowstone caldera going off. Also I love to try and figure out big answers to unknown questions. Mostly about time, space and physics.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
watching Sci Fi Fridays with my wife, or going out to be with friends for dinner, or gaming at a friend's house, or working on fixing my own home, or well pretty my anything. I would venture to say I don't have a "typical" Friday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I bluff a lot, I mean it too, I act a lot cooler and self assured than I really am. It's not that I try to, it just a automatic defence mechanism, the funny thing is that I try so hard to put up a front, when I really am a cool guy I seldom see it, thus reinforcing the low self esteem.
