My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My quick facts: name's Don, I'm an Ohio native, I have a degree in creative writing but I now work at the Jacksonville Zoo as an Exhibit Guide.

Now the important stuff. I have a dachshund mix named Dixie who goes kayaking with me. Peanut butter is the greatest food ever. I can sit down and eat an entire jar before I realize I ever opened it. I don't like cheese or pasta. I can't sing or dance but I will OWN you in trivial pursuit. The only way I can watch horror movies is with a cuddle buddy. I have all the expansion packs for Cards Against Humanity. I love the Muppets but Seaseme Street freaks me out. Most of my free time is spent fishing from my kayak, reading, watching movies and TV, hanging out with friends, and trying to include my dog in all those activities.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm at the Jacksonville Zoo, six days a week, either working or volunteering. It's all part of my master plan for becoming a zoo keeper. I'll be a happy man if I get paid to work more with animals and less with people.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at setting up "That's what she said" jokes. It's fun saying purposely leading statements and I can count on my immature friends to catch it and finish the joke.
The first things people usually notice about me

That my brownies are delicious pieces of chocolate heaven. I don't care if they're lazy brownies, made from the box with frosting out of a can, they're amazing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My favorites are fantasy books, especially George R.R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire), Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn series), and Jim Butcher (Dresden Files and Codex Alera.) I also read sci-fi, mystery, adventure, comics (less superhero, more Far Side, Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes) and nature books.

Some of my favorite shows, in no particular order, are: Arrested Development, Futurama, Simpsons, Game of Thrones, anything Stargate, Babylon 5, Castle, Firefly, Psych, Mythbusters, Monk, Archer, Robot Chicken, Doctor Who, Community, Bob's Burgers, Walking Dead, Sherlock, Cowboy Bebop

Some favorite movies: The Truman Show, The Usual Suspects, Die Hard, Black Dynamite, Lord of the Rings, Snatch, Up, Wall-E, The Lion King, Toy Story, Star Wars IV-VI, Shaun of the Dead, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The End of the World, Office Space, and anything with unusually large or aggressive creatures eating people. The only time I'll watch horror or rom-coms is if I'm cuddled up with someone.

A few bands: The Black Keys, Mumford and Sons, The Airborne Toxic Even, Imagine Dragons, Of Monsters and Men, Awolnation, Muse, Young the Giant, fun., The Killers, Cake, Spoon, Wolfmother, The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Cloud Cult, Vampire Weekend, Noah and the Whale, Grouplove, Deathcab for Cutie, The White Stripes, The Dead Weather, The Vitamin String Quartet. Pretty much anything not country, most rap, or screaming metal.

As for food, my last meal would be BBQ ribs and anything with peanut butter in it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My glasses, my dog, fishing, keeping my feet covered while sleeping (protection from monsters!), an internet connection, and my morning oatmeal
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I would do if an animal got out at the zoo. Do I shepherd the guests to safety? Or courageously take on the beast and defeat it single-handed?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out with friends or at home watching a movie or reading a book.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still try to move objects with my mind. One of these days...
