Your Notes
Edit your notesI am daydreaming, sarcastic, and silly.
My Self-Summary
- I'm very happily not married to fauxazn, and the only thing that may change about it is the "not". Just so you know.
- I am one of these: gorgeous people
In other news:
I am slim and hidden behind my notebook when I'm not out trying to climb, running or doing other stuff. I'm terrible at making first impressions but subsequently good at convincing people that I'm not how I initially appear to be.
I don't take myself seriously, looking at my life as if it were a movie and laughing about me running into glass doors, drowning my cell in the Mediterranean, smashing my laptop with a volleyball.. ..my life is a cheap slapstick movie.
I can smile about an absurd angle of a horrible situation until the very end. I refuse to be serious about things just because I should be, and I scoff at people who believe that the absence of a sense of humor equals maturity.
I'm understated and quite shy, but will talk far to much once I start talking. I am very, very random at times.
I like words and if you don't stop me from doing it, I will invent my own. I like photography and architecture.
I'm brutally honest and sarcastic, but never mean. I have strong opinions and always, always end up playing the devil's advocate. Discussions are fun.
I am, apparently, immune to jet-lag.
Born in Ukraine, grew up in Germany, lived in France for a bit. Now haunting the populace of the U, S and A.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
Listening. Talking. Writing insanely long emails.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books:
I'm very particular about style, language and storytelling. For instance, I like the Harry Potter books, but despise Artemis Fowl for the writing. Star Wars books are no books to me, but mostly re-packaged toilet paper. I have read Dan Brown books when I did a lot of flying about and I'm ashamed of it.
Some books/authors I like: The Picture of Dorian Gray, Young Lions, H.P. Lovecraft, Lem and the Strugatskys, Mankell
Movies:
I mostly like to go see fun movies. I like epic stuff, ridiculous action, Hugh Grant movies (I know, I know), Keira Knightley and movies that clearly don't take themselves seriously. They still have to be well executed. I am perpetually disappointed by movies that don't live up to the trailer, and that's most of them. A lot of the Hollywood screenplays make me want to fly over there and beat those people up for producing scripts that a five-year-old could have written better. Dubbed movies make me cringe and squeal.
It takes a bit of a push to make me go see serious, philosophical movies, but I often end up liking them.
I like: Amelie, The Royal Tenenbaums, Lucky Number Slevin, Casino Royale, Love Actually, Woody Allen
Music:
I'm a rock person mostly, but I also like well done beat-heavy stuff for dancing, a lot of the singer-songwriter stuff I've been introduced to (Jem, Dido and such). I am not ashamed to admit that one of my favorite music styles to go dancing to is probably best described as "very, very gay". I'm a self-taught and thus terrible dancer, and I like it. I dance while sitting in my chair and working if someone plays the right music :)
I like: Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry and a huge lot of other stuff that I can't even name.
Food:
I like almost any food. My favorite is probably a mix of various mediterranean cuisines. I had a traumatic run-in with pumpkins and am very cautious around them.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
I might tell everybody I need to work only to end up wasting my time on the internet or chatting with friends.
I might have a fit of panic and actually work.
I might be out, pestering my friends to go dancing.
I might be hanging out with a friend, slumping on a couch, talking or watching a movie.
