My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am very close to my friends and family, I welcome the open road, and I get loud and excited when I discuss something I am passionate about.

I have lived in and visited a great many places and like to talk about them all. To start with, I am a big rust belt cities fan. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, all on my list of greats.

My friends tell me I am fun and down to earth and need to find a match who shares that description.

If I were to describes myself with five words they would be: Contemplative, Tall, Engaging, Individualistic, and American.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on my intangibles.

I am also a historian. It is great work if you can get it and it makes me a ringer for Bar Trivia when they have a History category.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Buying my nephew super cool gifts.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Though I prefer the term "Aerodynamic American," some would describe me as going bald.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I read a lot for my job. Some of my recent favorites are: A World Lit By Fire and The Source. I am currently reading a bunch of books on the 19th century for an independent project.

Movies: Actions movies, historical epics, pretty much any movie where things blow up, or something grand and interesting is happening. I really like 1980s Sci Fi movies like: Aliens, Robocop, Predator, Terminator. High watermark of American cinema.

Shows: The Americans, The Walking Dead, True Detective, Game of Thrones, The Leftovers is great, I also can't pass up an episode of Bar Rescue.

Music: I have random musical taste. I am mostly a classic rock fan. I particularly like Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Led Zeppelin, etc. I also listen to country music, big band jazz, Motown. I am a pretty big Jimmy Buffett fan (Parrothead is the proper nomenclature). I also clean my house while listening to the Louis Armstrong Pandora Station.

Food: I prefer pie rather than cake. I like duck, breakfast food, pesto on my pizza, and I drink whiskey almost exclusively.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A Hat
The News in the Morning
Hooded sweatshirts
Comfortable shoes
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Economics, History, Places I intend to visit, and how much fun it would be to have a canoe.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going out and drinking with some friends in a bar fit for conversation and trying to make it home in time to order a pizza before the good pizza place closes.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
One of my greatest regrets is going to a small liberal arts university in Massachusetts. Looking back, it would be pretty awesome to have had a college football team. Alas, I feel like I am a man without a country when I visit the south and mid-Atlantic states where everyone has one.

Also I play harmonica and am originally from Maine.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to get together and grab a drink and find a jukebox with some Sam Cooke.

Also someone who likes to get out of the Beltway would be awesome.
