If I were to describes myself with five words they would be: Contemplative, Tall, Engaging, Individualistic, and American.
I welcome the open road and I get loud and excited when I discuss something I am passionate about.
I am a big rust belt cities fan. Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Cincinnati, all on my list of greats.
My friends tell me I am fun and down to earth and need to find a match who shares that description.
What I’m doing with my life
Working on my intangibles.
I am also a historian. It is great work if you can get it. It also makes me a ringer for Bar Trivia.
I’m really good at
Buying my nephew super cool gifts.
I am also effortlessly punctual.
The first things people usually notice about me
Though I prefer the term "Aerodynamic American," some would describe me as bald.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read a lot for my job. Some of my recent favorites are: A World Lit By Fire and The Source. I am currently reading a bunch of books on the 19th century for an independent project.
Movies: Action movies, historical epics, pretty much any movie where things blow up, or something grand and interesting is happening. I really like 1980s Sci Fi movies like: Aliens, Robocop, Predator, Terminator. Crown Jewels of American cinema.
Shows: The Americans, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones,The Leftovers. I also can't pass up an episode of Bar Rescue.
Music: I have random musical taste. I am mostly a classic rock fan. I particularly like Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Led Zeppelin, etc. I also listen to country music, big band jazz, and Motown. I am a pretty big Jimmy Buffett fan (Parrothead is the preferred nomenclature). I clean my house while listening to the Louis Armstrong Pandora Station.
Food: I like duck, breakfast food, pesto on my pizza, and I drink whiskey almost exclusively. I also prefer pie to cake.
The six things I could never do without
Lawrence Jame's "Rise and Fall of the British Empire."
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Economics, History, places I intend to visit, and how much fun it would be to have a canoe.
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out and drinking with some friends in a bar fit for conversation and trying to make it home in time to order a pizza before the good pizza place closes.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One of my greatest regrets is going to a small liberal arts university in Massachusetts. Looking back, it would be pretty awesome to have a college football team. I feel like I am a man without a country when I visit the south and mid-Atlantic states where everyone has one.
You should message me if
You want to get together and grab a drink and find a jukebox with some Sam Cooke.
